That is a very good idea, but the one hitch is that several threads like that have already been created in the past. All of them were locked or deleted, and the people who made them recieved TOSs, and a few of them were banned. I have no idea why this happened, although it has been speculated that it may have been because people kept illegally bumping them back up to the first page.

And welcome to the committee I apologize for my earlier harsh statements; I and quite a few other people here can be very touchy sometimes.

What I'm saying is that one user make this, but before said person does that we PM the editor to be vigilante for the thread, and once created he lock it and pin it. That should avoid any people from spamming it, and thus getting TOS violations.

And it's OK, I too came off way to strong.

some members who have room at their signatures can have a link to a blog made by Ross or someone else with that info, and they can be the "Newbies' Loyalist welcoming Squad"?

The difficulty is in getting that permission to get it pinned. The people who made the aforementioned threads all put in numerous requests for their threads to be pinned and locked, but to no avail.

This is a good idea. Should we implement this?

Well this got pinned, so we must have some power of influence towards the editor, or else he wouldn't have recognized us as an official group.

I don't really get how it works (i'm an idiot ) but I would love to join... I am a newb when it comes to being a member of TV.com, but I have been viewing the past threads of this Forum for a LONG time now... I don't really know WHY I didn't join TV.com before, I just didn't really think about it (again, i'm an idiot )... But I am aware that this Forum used to be FULL with people, and now it doesn't have as much people as it did. I would love to help in any way I can to make this Forum as great as it was again...

It's fairly simple. You just need to put the icon in your signature (although you can't do that until you are level 3), and inform ross93 that you wish to join. Your name goes on the list and you are in. If you like, you can join the Kombustion Squad. Or you can wait until the next elections for High Council. If you opt for the latter, I assure you that you have my vote.

This is the icon that has proved most popular amongst members of the committee, but there is another one. To put in in your sig you go into your profile, click "Edit Profile", and go to "Boards". There should be a place at the bottom where you can copy and paste the picture, and while you're at it type out something about supporting OWLism (an excellent practice that must be maintained).

The Leader of the welcoming committee? Hmm, not yet, I'm to new. Perhaps when I'm at least a level 10, my opinion will change.

Anyway, I think the welcome thread should look something like this, they've gone ahead and pinned something similar so there's no reason why we shouldn't be allowed to do the same.

Of course that's only part of it. Another part would be what not to do, and what to do as a newb.
