In ancient China, the design of the hair and the ponytail was a symbol of rank. Those with higher ranks would more elaborate headdresses.

Zuko and Iroh cut off their hair in the end. It's probably a symbol for their resignation from the Fire nation. They released themselves, never to return home, for they both knew that the Fire lord don't want them back. He only wants them captured and probably killed.

Ahhh I missed the preview for the Cave of Two Lovers

    Someone want to recap

And I kinda hope that Zuko can (can is the word here people) grow his hair back out. And for the longest time I thought that picutre was of Zuko and Ozai, maybe it still is but Know I lead to believe its Zuko and Iroh. (falsh back pic) And I really miss Zuko's hair do why oh why did he cut it off. Oh Blah... well its not that bad but its a little wierd looking with just a patch of hair on the back of his head. Oh and Azula does have some sweet skills. I thinks its funny because we were learning joint locks in Shou Shu last night (Shou Shu is a type of martial art that is seven Martial Arts in the one System) anywho, She's good... but IROH SCHOOLED HER HAHAHAHA

If I had done nothing to gain my fathers trust, I wouldn't have believed it. At least not so quickly. Not quickly at all.

Sorry, but he got totally owned by his sister. What's up with that Lightning Bending anyway? Will Aang learn that.

That ep was just...woah. I can't believe how incredibly idiotic and crazy that general was, though that thing with the tea had me cracking up.

I think my favorite part was Zuko and Iroh cutting their hair, which I feel is symbolic of them not being tied to the Fire Nation anymore. It reminded me of Sakura cutting her hair in Naruto, even if it was for a different reason. But I'm sure he'll still be hot. Sure, he might only have a patch of hair left - but he'll always look the same shirtless. *drool*

I'm quite excited for the next ep as well. If it was anything like this one, I'm bound to enjoy it, although the possibility of Katara and Aang kissing already has me giddy to no end.

Zuko's burn makes me sick. I loved him with the broad swords.(Can't remember the name.) He should go back to that.

The question with zuko is: what will he do now?
(we all think we know this one, but that's not to say it is true)

The question with Ang and Kanata (spelling is wrong, I know): is will they finallly confess their love and kiss?

    And here's a question for you'all?

Avatar roku says " if you are killed in the avatar state there will be no more avatars." my question.

who in their right mind is going to get close enough to try and kill him in the avatar state? very brave, very powerfull, or very stupid and very lucky, that's all I can say.

by the way do you suppose that's what they mean in the title of the show? the last avatar, ie. he dies in the Avatar state near the end of the series?

Lovely episode! I loved the way Zuko's predicament parallelled what was happening to Aang.
I just got thinking about the flask of water Pakku gave Katara in the beginning of the episode. Maybe this water is one way for Aang to access his avatar state? I wonder wy he didn't think about this?
It will be interesting to see what katara does with this (heal Zuko's scar?

That was really harsh, the only reason Father would want you home is so he can lock you up in Jail to make sure you don't embarrass the family anymore

Ouch... but it was funny "Princess we are here to take the royal prisoners home!" ahha priceless

No, they just mean Aang is the only living Airbender. The avatar is of a different element every time.

oh yea, I laughed. anyway, that episode was too good! I thought it was wrong how they kept playing on people's emotions though (Azula playing with Zuko's feelings of being banished, the general playing on Aang's guilt), and I wanted to cry when Zuko cut off his ponytail! man, Azula, pleasant girl, so nice...as if! anyways, this episode rocked! right on! And Katara hinted to Aang about her feelings, "to the people who love you..." I'm just saying...it's gonna happen I tell you

Great episode. I really hope that Zuko grows his hair back; he looks a lot better with it. I think I turned red when they showed Sokka with his hair down.

OMG, I'm turning into a fangirl. *screams*
