Agreed. I knew that something was keeping info out of the city, but I didn't think it was mind control.

WHOA..I never imagined that's how it was in Ba Sing Se...hell the Earth Kingdom has a bigger secret than the Fire Nation ever had...hypnotic suggestion, false monarchy..this show just gets deeper n deeper...you knew somethin was up as soon as the nothin but smiles lady appears...

Wow I totally did not expect Ba Sing Se to have a dictatorship/big brother feel to it. I can't wait until the next episode.

I loved it, though, I mean, the whole conspiracy "there is no war" thing. It's so unexpected, but it totally makes sense! Ba Seng Sei is a huge city of walls, and it's all about security!

Wow... ok that was a really scary episode... the whole brainwashing ideas and shussh stuff. Craziness
Oh and Might I mention that Zuko's broadsword fight kickarse, not as long as I would have hoped, but it kinda reminded me of Samurai Champloo with the Mugen Jin fight
LOVE IT! This season got really dark since the Cave of Two Lovers

I'm going to be honest here: the city being "A Clockwork Orange" was the absolute last thing I expected to see in this show.
I'm most concerned about Jet.?? He's apparently convinced the war dosen't exist...and the war is the thing that drives him.?? What's left when the thing that kept you moving through life is gone?
Also, that crazy host girl (both of them) will huant me for the rest of my life.

It was an interesting episode. I agree that Ba Sing Sei is trying to protect its city but I think they're being too protective.

The episode was awesome; one of the best this season. The Jet vs Zuko fight was amazing and the Dai Li(or however you spell it) were really cool. They also seam really strong I mean just one of them was able to take care of Jet in two seconds. And man Ba Sing Sei is a freaky place. I think the rest of the season will probably be in the city as Aang tries to free it from its crazy leaders.
