Uh, he was using an australian accent because he IS Australian. Look at his bio on the site. |
r u that guy with the australian accent?
Anyways, errr, idk, it says extreme in the title, yet it's just some guy with a monotone voice, stumbling and mumbling his words, and making very long, akward, unneccesary pauses. Spewing out facts that almost every avatar fansite has plastered on its hompage. And making ridiculous claims based on only his opinion. And what's with the shades, Morpheus.
This may seem harsh, but i only do it cause i care.
Ehem.......
Even though this is an awesome idea with this discussion thread I want to know who the hell u think u are. I dont see u getting on cam and doing what I do hmmmmmm, I don't appreciate people like you, who just want to diss me, If u have something to say, say it to my face.
And seeing as how my show is unscripted theres bound to me some stumbling, I also have a slight speech problem thank you very much
X-TREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEM.
I don't think I'll watch anything with an X used like that.

WordLife319 - I'd like to offer some 'constructive' criticism if I may....
#1 - I totally agree with what you are saying about Nickelodeon not marketing Avatar the way it deserves. They were marketing it much better during season two and even that wasn't enough. I'm not sure what the problem is with them this time around, but there is obviously a problem.
#2 - I commend you for what you are trying to do to promote Avatar. Your flyers are a great idea - especially for schools. I am an adult (29) and I promote the show any chance I get. I've got action figures, posters, stickers, etc plastered all over my office. I've managed to get several people hooked on the show, and in turn they have gotten other's hooked. To an individual, promoting a show seems like a daunting task, but if everyone plays their part then we can make a difference together.
#3 - Several people have commented on the sunglasses so I feel the need to as well. I think you are wearing them mostly because you are reading some notes off to the side and don't want that to be obvious. Also, you may think the sunglasses are giving you an edgy type of look. To me, I'd rather see your eyes because it makes the communication seem more personal - like you are talking directly to me. You could try writing the main outline of your notes on a large marker board or paper so you could quickly glance at it without interrupting the flow of the video. Also, and I'm sure you do this, practice your giving report several times. I realize you probably have a million other things going on and time could be an issue, but if you are putting yourself out there for the world to see then you want to do your best.
#4 - You mentioned earlier that you have a slight speech problem. I did pick up on that, but barely, and only after you pointed it out. You may want to think about trying some dictation exercises. If you've ever seen 'My Fair Lady' you may recall... "The rain in Spain stays mainly in the plain".
#5 - You are driven, and that is the key to success. Creating two websites and faithfully posting vlogs on them is very time consuming and takes a lot of dedication. Anyone who can pull off such a feat is destined for greatness. People do critisize, and yes sometimes their criticism is mean, but try to learn from it and improve upon the total package. I'm sure you have heard the story of the emperor who paraded around naked because nobody had the guts to tell him he had been scammed. The same thing applies here. If you always get positive reviews that are not completely honest, then you will not be able to see your own flaws and in turn correct them.
