Airbending is not based on genetics though. I think, I'm probably wrong though, it's based on the person's spiritual connection to the bending type. If that makes sense, then Ty Lee certainly ACTS like an Airbender.

i agree with miss katara because how could Ty-Lee be an airbender for one she was born in the fire nation also the only reason people think she is an airbender is because she is flexible and that is just because she was in the cirus ( i think i like the word because )

Indeed, it is a spiritual thing, like MDD or/and BK said. ("I always thought of it more like a spiritual thing.") But I don't think it would cross borders. Crossingover seems a bit strange, and Airnomad that can firebend, and a Fire Nation citizen that can waterbend? Sounds neat! (but not likely!)

So if Aang were born in a Ba Sing Se (from air nomads) he couldn't be an airbender? No.

As far as we know, bending has two factors. Your parents, and your spirituality. Ty Lee certianly fits the second one (nomad life in the circus, jumping, highwire act, happy, etc.) Now all we need is a backstory about how her grandparents were air nomads that went into hiding. I've already bought it, I'm sure once they explain it in the show it will make even more sense.

not literly "borders", I don't know the correct word for what I mean.

The problem with TL being an airbender is that her parents are fire nation folks. As showed in flashbacks, their were close with the Royalty. How likely is it that that can happen? (Ursa maybe?)

We have no clue who her parents are. We've never even seen them. Further, who says both of her parents have always been royalty?

And it's very likely to happen. I have pictures of it.

    PS. Ursa what?

Ursa might have something to do with Airbenders in such a high position in the FN. But idk, we'll see.

Ty Lee is very acrobatic, but she's a circus freak, so thats not weird... I highly doubt she's an Airbender.

ursa is descended from roku remember?

and btw, amat092, i really don't see anything that would make the GTP concerned there.

oh, well I thought i spelled Dongbufeng Dongbeng earlier...b nvm...

Anyone care to give a theory as to the reason Kuruk and Yangchen make a reappeaarance in S3. Maybe Koh will makes an appearance as well?

So, what do you guys think the Boiling Rock will be about?

My thoughts are, that the Gaang goes to a Boiling Island (as mentioned in the Avatar Mag.) and they find that it is an island for Fire Nation prisoners (kind of like Prison Island from Sonic), and the story goes from there.

    What do you think?

My theory is... they're flying on Appa and Zuko hear's, say, Katara talking about the invasion force prisoners. Zuko mentions a Fire Nation prison for important prisoners called the Boiling Rock. Suggesting that the invasion force leaders and others are most likely there. They then formulate a plan to liberate the prison/ find their Father, other leaders, and possible, Suki. I hope it's remotely based on something like that; an episode like that would be awesome. Not necessarily what I speculated but a plot for an episode overall.

Question: Anyone have a good explanation for the tornado in the swamp episode? Seems to me that it's one of the biggest pieces of evidence that airbenders might still be around. Until recently whenever I saw that episode I just thought it was due to the whole mystical swamp feel (like the visions) but after watching it again, the plantbender guy (think his name was Hu) says that the visions are normal, but couldn't account for the tornado.

Also, we've seen two of the benders from the opening sequence in the opening credits (Pakku, and Azula) but the identities of the others we still don't know (I think). Think we'll see them eventually (even if the airbender is in a flashback or something)?

I do have a theory on the earthbender: I think it's lee's (kid from zuko alone) older brother cuz his name sounds awfully close to Sun Tzu (the art of war) and the benders from that sequence have all been powerful ones thus far. blah.

Well Sozin was close with Afiyko The Betrayer an airbender from the card game,so it could of went down for generations and Ty Lee might be relatedto Afiyko and have some airbender genes in her.

ok, based on those pictures from comic con (scenes we haven't seen yet in season 3), I'm going to predict that the next episode will be about rescuing the war prisoners. Zuko (and maybe others) will be captured and we'll have that scene with Mai and Zuko in that steel room. Then Aang saves the day (somehow) by creating chaos (which would explain that crowd scene). Azula tries to capture the Avatar, but fails, causing her to go ballistic because she hates not being perfect. The war prisoners (including Suki and perhaps Bumi), the Gaang, and Zuko all manage to escape back to the western air temple, which will become a temporary military base. They finally rally the Earth kingdom and water tribes ending the series in an epic battle. somewhere in between that they'll meet iroh, ursa, and the white lotus society

Okay, time for a stupid question, is there any idea to when the next episode is supposed to be out? That is, Episode 12, the Western air Temple? I mean, the recap has already been added, but it doesn't have a date on it.
