I like both of your theories, but I'm not sure that Mai is that self-sacrificing. Maybe she really loves Zuko, but I think she's a pretty selfish person.

I've been doing some thinking, and I think the 2 hour season finale's offical name is Sozin's Comet. Why? Well, he are something's that might help this: 1. This whole war, all the problems of aang (especially the loss of his nation), all the problems of zuko (becuase he is the great grandchild of Sozin and Roku), was caused by Sozin. For the finale to be epic, Sozin must have some involvement in the matter. The only way to do that is with his meteor. 2. If Ozai can get super charged with the meteor, why not aang? He can learn firebending, and use it against Ozai. Also, it has been confirmed the final battle will be an epic battle, why not bring up the odds with a super powered fire bending battle? 3. By having the comet appear during the finale, it will raise the stakes for our heroes. It will pretty much be the climax of our heroes story, and everyone in the avatar world will be affected by it. Aang will have to be the first avatar to face someone that could be stronger than the avatar. 4. Sozin's Comet has been brought up so much, why would the season finale end up with just aang fighting Ozai on any kind of day. Knowing avatar, that would not happen. Something has to be added to make it harder on aang. That's my logic. Anything I missed? |
nope, that's pretty much everything. Only one question, why does everyone assume that once Ozai is dead, everyone's problems will be over? There's still the entire fire nation army to deal with, and Azula too.....

I'm pretty sure Zuko will have taken Azula down by the time Aang takes down Ozai.
About the army, consider the game chess. You can take out as many pawns (Fire Nation Soldiers) as you want to, but you can ultimately win just by taking out the queen (Ozai, though it sounds weird ). By taking out the Queen, all of the pawns are automatically under your control. Well, by taking out Ozai, all of the soldiers are under the control of whoever takes the throne, which I belive will be Zuko. Aang will end the war, but Zuko will play the part in "officially" ending the war, by calling all of the soldiers to return to the Fire Nation, and signing a peace treaty with all of the other nations. Now, that doesn't mean that there won't be some problems, but there will always be problems, even before the war the were (Such as the Chin the Great thing).
If your still not convinced, think about this: All Azula had to do was overthrow the Earth King with a few Dai Lee, and, what happened? the Fire Nation gained control of the ENTIRE Earth Kingdom. The same will happen with the Fire Nation, except it will be Aang and the Gaang overthrowing Ozai. Then the thing with Zuko I mentioned above will happen.

There is a certain point which a person can hit where theres no turning back. Azula's hit that point, but Ty Lee, Mai, and especailly Zuko have not hit that point. I believe that all people have the chance to redeem themselves if they have not yet hit that point. I think that Ty Lee and Mai will play a big role in bringing down Ozai because there non-benders. I think that bending in this show represents people who have been born with specail rights. The Non-benders represent people who have to work around that right, which is my view on the whole Ty Lee and Mai thing. Also, Ty Lee can stop bending, and I'm sure Mai also knows where vital organs are. Them taking down Ozai is redemption for being forced to work with Azula.
Don't forget, Ty lee isnt with Azula on her own free will. And Mai doesn't trust Azula (see The Headband. When Mai is leaving Azula and Zuko, she gives Azula this sideways look that just screams 'I dont trust you'

the first time I saw that sideways look, I thought that Mai was working with Azula and being Zuko's girlfriend so that Azula could keep an eye on him through her(mai). I know that 's not what it meant, but that's what it stuck me as at first (that was before I saw "zuko alone")
*i don't get nick on my tv, so I watch the episodes online. At the time I watched The Headband, Zuko Alone wasnt' availabel on turbonick and I hadn't discovered veoh yet, if u're confused*

maybe not exactly with does words, but most certainly will involve the comet
Since the spoiler thread has been locked, I'll repost this here:
In the Avatar magazine, there is an article that talks about the new villains that will appear in S3. There are 3: CM, someone from the WT (Hama) and another from the distant past witha disturbing connection to Sokka and Katara. So far we have only seen 2. That leaves the villain from the distant past. Next to the article is a picture of this guy.
His picture caption says, "Whoever this guy is, he's trouble!"
This implies he is important. And since we only have one villain left, I am speculating he is the one with the connection to the WT siblings.

He is the guy who attacked their tribe and killed their mother- "disturbing connection to Katara and Sokka". And its a fire whip- it says it in the picture, and he's wearing firenation armour. |

I have 2 theories.
1.) he killed Sokka and Katara's mom
2.) He's can bend both fire and water
Guys, ive been thinking.... Why dont they invade the firenation at night when they are powerless? I mean, its the same thing as an eclipse there is no sun at night... And it would be better because they would have more than 10 minutes to do the whole thing... So.. what do you think?
