wow just one question. why the hell does aang look so ripped!?
well maybe sozins comet makes firebenders more bigger as we seen in the pictures of the firelord when hes mad (it looks like he swells up during the fight in aangs dreams and in pictures). so maybe the comet has enough energy to boost aangs physical statis up. and i think thats how the firenation wiped out the airbedners so efficient bc of the power the comet gave them when it first came around. anythoughts??

eh maybe. i think hes more ripped because he has been training so much. i8n nightmares and daydreams we saw him without a shirt nad he was kinda getting there. and about the firelord sweeling up in aangs dream, i dont think thats because of the comet, i think aang's just scared and he pictures the firelord as a monster type thing.

He would've burned off any fat that he had during his KO'd period, when he wasn't eating and all.

Obviously there's a loophole for that. Look at Roku and his wife.

Your'e right! In AATF Roku had love, plus he was able to enter the avatar state at will. Could this be forshadowing or just a mistake?

Love is possible, but so, too, is loss. The guru didn't convincingly explain to Aang what it means to "let go" of Katara. At any time, Aang could lose Katara, either because she dies or because she loves someone else instead, but that loss shouldn't affect Aang's ability to serve the world.

Some of us have already agreed that Roku had "let go" of his wife because he knew his duties came before her. Instead of saving her, he helped everyone.

He helped her from the volcanoes as well as everyone else didn't he? But then he died so...I guess he did let go.

NO! Aang might die but Kataang never will. EVER! I guess that belongs in the Kataang/Zutara thread.

lol yeah. idk apparently a major femal character is supposed to die so it might be katara, it would definitely be a interesting twist, and aang could see her in the spirit world! that would b ok i guess, though i want her to kiss him back before she died ( if she was going to die) that way we could know if she loved him or not ( though we all kno that she does . lol jkjk no one knows. im not even sure mike and bryan are 100% sure yet lol)

    Kat will not die

    Aunt wu told her

"and then you'll have your third great grandchild before quietly passing away in your sleep. Is that enough information for you?"

Seems Aunt Wu told her she would die. Quietly. In her sleep.

Well, if the creators have confirmed that either Kataang or Zutara is going to happen, we can assume that Katara does survive. And either Aang, Zuko or both are going to live. Unless Katara hooks up with one of them before the finale, in which case all bets are off.

I thought this was already established in the 9 months of hiatus?

What the Guru meant by needing to leanr to let go, is that aang needs to learn that the world comes before Katara. That doesnt mean tht Aang cant love her, its just that Katara cant get in the way of Aangs responsibilites.

Remember in the Season Finale from I think season 2, when Aang remembers what the Guru says just as he sees Katara being attacked by all their enemies and she seems to be in trouble. Normally Aang might rush to her rescue, but instead he says "sorry Katara" and encases himself in a protective shield while he meditates to go into the Avatar state. If Aang had rushed to her side then his passion and feelings would have been in control of him and he wouldn't have been able to be in the proper state of mind to control the avatar state, even if he had managed to go into it. He would have just been the destructive avatar state that we have seen in the past which is what he was afraid of. He was worried he might hurt his friends even as he defeated their enemies. Seems like the creators of Avatar are drawing heavily from Buddhist tradition with this because in order for Aang to enter into the avatar state by his own will (and control it) he has to "let go" of his powerful emotional attachments, perhaps even all emotional attachments, thereby making him immune to the powerful influences of things such as hatred, greed, and delusion. Those 3 are considered the main obstacles in many forms of Buddhist theory which prevent someone from becoming enlightened. However, any emotion can lead someone down the path towards one of those 3, including love.
