So although this thread was intended to help guide new people, it appears to have quickly turned into yet another thread full of inside jokes and off-topic conversation. But why should I be surprised?

If I were a new person, I don't know that I'd feel particularly welcome here. But then who am I kidding, I already don't feel welcome because??of the antics here in the past couple months.

That's too true... although I'm pretty much equally guilty from what I said in my last post.

(I mean to what U4ric said...)

are you new? You have like a gazillion posts.
I don't think ANY of us are trying to make people feel unwelcomed. I myself think it's good for the forum. The person who created this topic even told the moderators they could delete this and that he just wanted to make it clear that there were certain guild lines to follow in this forum. We (as in everyone else) did get off track for a while (during the periods where there were no new episodes to discuss) but honestly at least we kept the forum going instead of giving up on it all together. Theres just A LOT of new people and a ton of new topics that really aren't neccesary. I'm not saying this topic is, because obviously it is now filled with inside jokes (way to set a good impression guys) but it's not just us. There's a bunch of inside jokes all over this place. The new people should quit making new posts that belong in an already created topic. If they just TRIED to join in on existing conersations instead of trying to make new ones everyone would get to know each other better instead of the older members writing off the newer members as noobs. However I agree that we should be a bit more welcoming. You could have said it a bit nicer though ric your comment seemed a bit stinging.

I think the boards where down for maintenance? At least, user submissions were. I had trouble connecting for a while.
