Good thing they're gonna be involved with the movie. Though, I'd really rather see their next Avatar series than a live action movie.
i expect a 2012 release for the new series...if they make one

Sweeeeet. I know this is far-fetched but I could potentially be involved in that. I'd graduate from college in 2013. That would be exponentially awesome to work for M & B. I can dream.

Put that you had an Avatar trailer shown at the 08 NYCC on your resume or in a cover letter/portfolio; they'll at least have to give you an interview

I didn't know that they raised the pitch of Zach's voice. I was thinking that Aang's voice should be deeper than it already was, and now I know why.

    Bryke didn't even know! LOL

I'd think that Zach's voice getting deeper would be more of a problem in his roll as Pablo in the Backyardigans. It's kind of hard to write an episode explaining puberty to 1 1/2 to 6 year old

Fourth line of the second paragraph

"Six years, three seasons, and more than 50 episodes later, Avatar the Last Airbender has proven to be a bona fide hit, as one of Nickelodeon's most popular franchises that inspires a rabid fanbase of all ages."

Maybe Foaming Mouth Guy was meant to be sort of a mascot?

Well, maybe now he is. But when he was created, they probably had no idea that the fanbase would be exactly like Frothers.

We take foaming to a whole new level - tissues aren't enough, we're more of the Bounty paper towel type rabid.

I'd suggest someone cosplay Foaming Mouth Guy for a competition, but no one would be able to tell him apart from the rest of the fandom

Okay, away from foamies, and back to the interview (focussing, sigh). Iroh! How do you guys think it would've been different if Iroh really had been the militant, "kung-fu sifu guy" that Mike and Bryan were originally thinking? I can't imagine! I think Iroh would loose so much dynamic and depth. He needed to be the a funny, compassionate guy to balance the emo in Zuko.

    What do you all think?

Yeah, I can't imagine Iroh as a serious type of guy. But what do you think about the Zutara comment? Is that for Zutara or against it? I can't tell because they said "don't jump ahead!", does the mean it was planned?

Toon Zone News would like to thank Mike DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko for their time, and Maria Poulos of Nickelodeon's PR department for arranging the opportunity. The next Avatar DVD will be released on May 6, 2008, and new episodes of the show will debut in July 2008. Also, check out Toon Zone News' New York Comic Con 2008 Avatar panel report.

    whats this about?

I guess it's definite then. Either they're making an assumption, or we don't see Ember Island Players before July. I guess we should be pleased we'll get Boiling Rock at least, but I wish we could have the tension breaker before another hiatus!

"people see what they want to see."

You can see it either way.

I think if Zutara was going to happen, that would be about the amount they would give away for it. But my money's on Kataang.

Nice piece of reading. I also coudnt see Iroh as a complete Hard@ss. The way they ended up makign him was perfect. I dont think they should of raised the pitch for aangs voice just to keep him sounding the same.
