So we all know that there are 4 temples: North, South, East, and West. The first two have men and the last two have women. Now, we have only seen the North and South Temples. The East was mentioned but nothing has been said about the West possibly due to its location supposedly near the Fire Nation. What am I getting at? Just hear me out.

Nearly evrything in the Western Earth Kingdom is controlled by the Fire Nation, and they were only able to get the North, West, and South. The East could still be fairly safe since it's harder to reach. So maybe some Airbenders have stayed there and not shown themselves, giving the idea that they are wiped out. So unless the Fire Nation went west and landed on the eastern coast of the Earth Kingdom, the idea of at least another Airbender alive is possible.

But this is just my theory. Until they ever make it there and prove me right or wrong, it's just a theory??that I got while reading another posting of a completely different topic. ^_^

Have they actually said in the show that the temples are segregated like that between men and womem. Any way, the EK and WT would not have believed that the AN were gone unless they checked themselves, especially if it was right there. Also, since the Avatar's world is round, then the FN probably just sailed around and took ou the eastern air temple. Why didnt they attack the EK this way? Well for one, its just bad strategy, two, maybe there are no good landing spots on the east coast (for an entire army) and three, the FN has made it to Ba Sing Se once, they just failed, maybe thats what they did the first time. I kind of went off on a tangent there but im gonna say this for all those, airbenders are still alive people: There dead. It creates a tension and drama that the world of Avatar needs and i believe that if they brougt any back it would ruin some of the show for me.

if there were other benders, then the show's name would be totally irrelevant. Avatar: The LAST AIRBENDER. Why would they name the show that if it's not true!?

Oh a tv show with a false name, that new... not.

Most likely an airbender (or a ghost of one) will be brought up eventually for dramatic and advertising purposes, I can see those dam nick commercials now: ???Aang travels to a mysterious mountain??? are all the airbenders really gone? On a brand new avatar next month!

The creators stated the Western and Eastern Temples are females only. I just wonder where the non-benders of the Air Temples lived. In the (unofficial) manga, its stated that because of the spirituality of the Air Nomads, everyone of the Air Nomads are born as Airbenders and that there are no non-benders.

The creators have said it quite a few times (there's even an "ask the creators" thing on turbonick where they say it again), and personally I'm still waiting for someone (be it the show or the creators) to tell us their world is round, or not on top of a giant tarantula. Ya never??know.

The title is not inaccurate. I have been e-saying on this forum that Prince Zuko only said, "The Sages tell us that the Avatar is the last airbender," but he never mentioned anything about the Sages's proof. Can the Fire Sages prove that the Avatar truly is the last airbender?

It???s actually cine-manga, as in its directly rooted to the show its based on and all or anything that comes out of it (including bonus info) came straight from the creators of the show. The book???s just published by an outside source, this one being Tokyopop. So, though I wouldn???t use the word myself I guess you could consider it ???official??? or whatever.

You know, most of you didn't need bash my idea. I did say it was just an idea that popped in my head while on another message. Like I said, the Eastern Temple might be safe. MIGHT! I'm pretty sure that with a war going on, the other two nations wouldn't check themselves. I'm just saying that it would take a long time to head that far east for an invasion. The last airbenders could have be hiding there and never showing themselves.

if you didnt want people to actually DISCUSS your idea, then you shouldnt have posted. dont take it personal, everyone has diff. views and different interpretations. we could all be right and most likely we're all WRONG, until the creators tell us otherwise

I never realised about that. I've been wondering lately about what would happen when the Avatar cycle comes back around again to Air if Aang is indeed the last airbender. If the sages say it, then it may not be true. The only idea I could really come up with, is that if the first benders learnt bending off the local animals, then maybe those living in the Northern Air Temple could learn it themselves (or from Aang once the war was over).

what i'm saying is why would the CREATORS of the show, the people who made it, name the show an inaccurate title. that would make no sense

Perhaps to get people to watch-- and to think. The creators who came up with the title presumably also came up with Prince Zuko's line to Uncle Iroh, and the story that follows.

Here in the UK, there's none of that problem. It's called Avatar; The Legend of Aang. So if there are still Airbenders around (except Aang obviously) then the title is still correct. Maybe people should start calling it that if it bothers them that much if other Airbenders still exist.

This made me wonder what female airbenders looked like. If they had arrows on their foreheads, it would look a bit strange because their hair would cover most of the arrow. Or, maybe they don't have hair?

    Straying off the topic, sorry

have you seen "The Avatar State", the first ep. of season 2? if you haven't then, don't read this because it'll give you spoilers. if you want the spoilers, then highlight below to read:

in that episode, they show a female avatar before Aang that was an airbender, and she had a full head of hair. it was long, too. and i don't think i saw an arrow on her

Here would be a picture from that episode of a female airbender
