i dont hink they would do that to the show. It has good ratings and adding more elements would make it stupid.

I wouldn't think that would happen. They are already fighting the war against the fire nation so there would be no point splitting up the groups.

BTW, is that another Kramer icon I see? And I thought I was the only 'Kramer' in the Avatar boards.

Well in Chinese legend, there were five original elements:

Water, Metal, Wood, Fire, and Earth.

I'm supposing that the producers tweaked it to make it more interesting, seeing as metal and wood are already parts of earth. Air is a more interesting element, and "metalbenders" don't really sound... you know.

In the West there are Four Elements (Earth, Water, Air, Fire) as opposed to the five Chinese ones (Water, Metal, Wood, Fire, and Earth).

Since they started out with the four elements I think it would be pointless to bring more in.

Ive heard some talk about bringing in people from the Light/Dark elements. I still dont see how that is practical but I bet the people from those nations would be really cool, probably psychic, telepathic and stuff.

There could be a very strong group of benders in the FN that bend lightning, and they separate from the FN to create a new nation that unbalances the world. That could be like a 4th or 5th season thing, when the FN is in civil war. The very advance lightningbenders would try to rule the entire world. Azula might try to form the lightningbender group if Zuko became Firelord of the original FN. The group would be the called the Lightning gods in honor of Azula??

It's very rude to call people you don't even know stupid, especially when you don't use proper grammar (it's 'you're' you're looking for. And you capitalize at the start of sentences). As far as this idea goes, while in real mythology earth and metal are seperate, ice is just a dirivetive of water. There's not really a point in seperating them. I always wondered why they didn't bend the fire nation machines, but appearantly there aren't any metal benders (something in my gut tells me that Toph was just muttering to herself and not saying anything of signifigance in 'The Drill'.)

Man you guys are HARSH ...... I actually like this Idea and I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility AND I think they've been hinting at it ........ but not the way the original poster said, You have Fire Benders: Some Bend Fire Some Bend Lightening, Earth Benders: Some bend Rock, Some Bend Sand. Water Benders: some Bend water, Some Bend Plants .... it seems like each elemental group has a smaller special subgroup to it. It does make a little since

No, no seriously I'm just curious, yeah uh, when you guys are making these things does a thought along the lines of oh say, "You know, this idea sounds pretty generic and there may be a significant chance that someone has already touched on it. Maybe even more than once." cross your mind or do you simply choose to disregard it???I mean, eh.
