interesting, but let's say that it was possible, i see it more likely that "Earthbenders went outside war rules" and in response Jeong jeong also went outside war rules

result? Lu Ten dies along with a HUGE NUMBER of FN AND EK, Jeong Jeong saw damage he did with his firebending, iroh saw his son had died and the why. the Dai Li really took over(No way BSS didn't know they were attacked back than)saying that FN gave up

so Jeonng Jeong became a rebel, and gave up his position in FN and decided not to be part of the FN. and iroh changed his view of things after this and visiting the spirit world

Totally a Rufftoon piece. A cartoonist friend confirmed it for me. But interesting idea nonetheless. It be cool to see a pre-enlightened Iroh as well as a dark scene in the Avatar world. Knock down to the realities of war.

Eh, the drill breached the wall, and no one WTF'd except the people right there. The Dai Li could've been around at the time of Iroh's invasion, and with that whole section of Ba Sing Se emptied for war purposes, no one would be around to see it. And since outer Ba Sing Se is farmland, you don't have too many people to clear out.

The Dai Li were around at that time (since Avatar Kiyoshi was the one who made them). As for being in that siege - it's more than likely. Long Feng was still manipulating the Earth King then and kept the soldiers and generals quiet.

since saccharine wrath hasn't been on tv.com lately, i'd like to take this opportunity declare her undying love for the not-quite-as-undying lu ten in her stead.

i have to say, tales of ba sing se still gets to me. T_T

Since when were there 'rules of war'? The Avatarverse doesn't have a Geneva Convention as far as I know. I really don't understand how Earthbenders trying to protect their home from ruthless firebenders who've laid siege to their city for about 2 years can possibly be shown in a negative light. They do whatever it takes to protect their city, if that means breaking some bones and killing some people so be it, the Fire Nation attacked them first anyway.

I honestly hope we get to hear more about Lu Ten. I mean, we've got a limited number of episodes, and we didn't see Iroh at all in the trailer. Do we learn more of his son and his journey to the spirit world?

And yes, I was crying in Tales of BSS even before the Mako tribute, it was that touching.

All of it's theory (if you hadn't noticed that yet). And besides, why wouldn't there be any "rules of war?" Like everything else in the Avatarverse, everything is based on something, so why not the Geneva Convention as well? Furthermore, wouldn't you think that there would be a general agreement to make certain bending forbidden? Like, say, creating an earthquake to kill hundreds to thousands of men. I think bloodbending could be up there too. Or how about applying more theoretical bending that can be forbidden: preventing a person from breathing air; combusting a person into flames... My point is, there are certain techniques that can be considered forbidden because it's like a crime against humanity. And if they weren't forbidden, the Avatarverse could have the potential to be one crazy, scary place.
