He couldn't have... He was never captured by the Dai Li. Things could've happened off screen in the tunnel I guess.

I didn't make a big deal out the fact that he talked until i say the the esp were he was?? seen for the first time. I guess I forgot. I feel rather silly now. I guess I thought it would be a one time deal with them in the esp.

He's a man(well boy) of few words...doesn't say more than needed...or only speaks when he has something important to say...and wtf are ppl getting him being ready to shoot Jet? he was clearly guarding the door, for when more Dai Li rush in...

Which begs the question "If more Dai Li did come in, would the two of them really be able to defeat them all?".

most likely. the two of them are used to being "Freedom Fighters" and they attacked a bunch of the FN soldiers before (but then again they had others helping)...I'm not sure, really

Regular FN soldiers perhaps, but the Dai Li are more like elite soldiers. Plus they were probably doing more sneak attacks from atop trees then direct fighting. *shrugs* But that's just my opinion. It's more likely all of the Dai Li left to intercept Aang and there was no need for the guarding, actually.
