to aang tell his feelings for katara

I totally ship Kataang, I mean, I'm cold and heartless, and I think they're cute together, so it has to be pretty powerful to move me.?? George and Zuko/Jin is cool too.?? But since I like Kataang the most, here's my question:?? When do you think Aang will have his first real kiss that we actually witness????? Cave of Two Lovers didn't count, because the light faded and were unsure if they kissed or not.?? What do you think??? Oh, everybody, heres my now completed fanfic.?? First if this thread has been started and is going on somewhere I am sorry to continue to post in it but I am a newbie too. Also sorry the action of posting a thread that has already been done illicits such a violent response from veteran posters. Please remember while we find our sea legs the tendancy to make mistakes is pretty high. I have read lots of Read This Before You Post threads and they are all quite lengthy. Meaning that if you are new here you will be doing a lot reading first before you even have a chance to comment. So please again go easy on us. We are not trying to be rude or disruptive, we are just trying to enjoy our favorite show (Avatar) with fellow fans like yourselves.

My personal theory is that Aang and Katara have for all intensive purposes shared their love for one another already. But you are right it has been done in a most inconclusive way. To mean that the creators have cleverly left the certainty of it wide open for speculation.

I think that Aang and Katara shared their first kiss in The Cave of Two Lovers episode. Why? Well not just because the shot pans in on them almost kissing but because when the lights come back on via the cave crystals they are tenderly holding hands and because Aang starts to ask Katara about the kiss by muttering....So ummm....and Katara interupts him and dashes for the exit. It could be possible that Aang could be beginning to ask her about something else but as those scenes are directly consecutive with one another it seems the logical conclusion to draw.

Additionally if they had not actually kissed why would Aang??later??declare to Sokka that they had let....love lead the way....out of the cave while Sokka and his companions let....wild fercocious beasts lead the way? If they had not kissed what reason would Aang have to say this to Sokka and why would he appear somewhat bashful when saying it as well? The second piece of evidence that confirms to me that they have already in a sense shared their love feelings with one another is that in the first part of the Secret of the Fire Nation aka The Serpents Pass after the baby Hope is born to the refugee family Aang pulls Katara off alone and says....seeing this family and the love they have for one another reminds me of how I feel about Appa and how I feel about you. Think about it. Appa is Aang's best friend and his only tangible link to the world he literally felt as if he had just left a day before being discovered by Katara and Sokka in the ice. So it would be logical to conclude Appa means a great deal to him.??Aang and Appa are??the only remanants of the entire Airbending world and culture??aside from perhaps Momo. For him to have placed Katara in the same category and rank in his heart says a lot. He in my opinion was tellling her that he loved her.

The fact is that many people can carry great love for??another person??long before the words.....I love you....actually come from their mouths. And truthfully many people say a great deal with their actions without saying a single word out loud. They show their love and affection through their behavior and actions. Aang has repeatedly shown his love and care for Katara and Katara her love and affection for Aang throughout the entire series. The Warriors of Kyoshi is a good episode example of this when Aang wants Katara to come and see him??brave the waters with the??unagi and Katara acts like she doesn't care only to come??out to watch him anyway to see if??he is o.k.??I could post more examples of this however this post is already too long as it is! lol

I?? think the creators are wise to allow the Aang and Katara love relationship to evolve slowly and very subtly. The story of Aang and his road as the Avatar ultimately destined to the battle the Fire Lord is complex and intricate. Therefore the love he shares with Katara??is in some ways equally as complex. Aang has a destiny to fulfill and that destiny no matter how much he wants it to be otherwise may not include being permitted to settle down with the??girl he loves to have a dozen babies and live a happy and contented and very ??normal, everyday life. Really in classic literature it is the same difference between??Frodo and Sam in the Lord of the Rings epic. In the final chapter the path Frodo took??would never again allow him to??live a simple life??in the shire. Some wounds are just too deep and never completely heal.??Frodo had seen and done too much in fulfilling his life destiny to ever go back to an average, everyday life again as Sam was able to eventually??do. In the same way Aang may find that too much happens on the road??to defeat the Fire Lord??to ever allow him to live and love the way he wants to truly. But just like in real life, they have right here and right now and that is all anyone is ever truly promised.
