Actually, I have no idea what a spinoff is. So to clarify, it's planned for there to be a few minisodes next year. Hype for the movie, I guess, as well as wrapping up the series.

I don't know. This show had potential, and won KCA in 2008.

Don't make assumptions so quickly. This announcement is expected to be made within the upcoming San Diego Comic Con at the Avatar Panel on July 25. If you watched the Comic Con 2007 presentation of the Avatar Panel, the creators talk about the movies that are being directed by M. Night Shyalaman, and the future of Avatar. During the video of the 2007 Avatar Panel, they do not mention the finale, yet they answer to some questions stating that they are not done with the Avatar Universe. Whether or not they are done with the gAang, they have stated that they are continuing with the Avatar Universe. If interseted in watching the Avatar Panel of Comic Con 2007, click here.

Personally, I really don't want the creators to remove the current characters. Changing the characters could be detrimental to the series, as many viewers are attached to the characters that have developed and grown so much over the series. Yet, it can be very helpful for the successful continuation of the series. Seeing as how a repetitive series can lead to the failure of a series, and the potential tainting of a series, it would be interesting to see how the creators go with this.

Seeing as how brilliant the creators are, anything is possible. It is definitely a potential that the creators will create a spin-off, or simply, a continuation of the current series.

Hopefully these questions shall be answered in this Friday's Avatar Panel at the San Diego Comic Con. Be sure to see if it's covered on G4, or some place on the web.

Don't give up hope just yet; there is still so much potential that has been acknowledged by both the viewers and the creators.

Ah, the quintessential question. Do we choose new characters every season? Or do we go on with the old ones? Choose new characters, and your show may suffer from the DIGIMON syndrome. Stick with old ones and it may develop POKEMON disease.

But I find that a show is much more long-lasting if they choose to use the same characters that people have grown attached to. Just because it's at the end of the third season doesn't mean that they're all now perfect characters; there's still room for character development. It's what CONFLICT they make to create it.

On the same note, three NEW seasons with new characters could last us a lot longer than one new season with the old ones. I don't think I'll take any sides. I'll just hope they even decide to DO another season.

Yes, this series Avatar: The Last Airbender is finished. This story is finished, along with the series. Although, until we get official news from the creators (probably at the Comic Con this Friday), there is no conformation that there is anything more than the movies that are being developed. Although, in Comic Con 2007, they did state that they were going to continue the Avatar Universe past season 3. The link to Avatar Panel in Comic Con 2007 is in my previous post, if you need to check it out and see it for youself .
