here's just a thought of something i've been wondering from the very start, and never got answered. seeing as Aang is the last airbender alive, once he dies, the next avatar to come alive will be a water bender, then an earth, and finally a fire bender. but once that firebender is dead, there won't be any airbenders to become avatar, causing the avatar chain to be broken. although in truth, such a problem would take place at least a good 300+ years after the end of the show, but still, it would be a problem if the Avatar is gone. although i guess it's always possible that the chain would just skip the airbenders, and just skip ahead to water, who knows?

I have no idea whatsoever. Only the creators know what will happen. Maybe the Avatar movie will provide some answers.

Aang can have kids, plus he possibly can give airbending ability to the people in North temple if he wishes with his lifebending(one he used to take firebending away from Ozai)

But the lion turtle said in order to bend another spirit your own must be unbendible or you'd be destroyed. So how could he give them airbending without being destroyed or losing his own airbending?

that's what i thought if he wanted to give people airbending powers he would have to give his powers up

he took away from ozai, he didn't absorb it

is a matter of putting the "life force" into the person

and I said lifebending because that is how early on was called from the book

    it can be called both

    lifebending(life force manipulation)or energy bending

ok, i didnt know where it came from although i'd heard people use it

he nearly got destroyed when doing it to ozai though, i dont think he can make someone an airbender but maybe he can transfer his airbending to another person.

because "Ozai life force" was corrupted, that is why aang became almost red, but than was able to rescind it than send Ozai's life force toward "nature" and in an uncorrupted form

Aang can get life forces from nature

I'm quoting myself from a previous thread cause I'm too lazy to type the point in a different way...

There'd be 2 ways to give bending to someone:

He pulls bending energy out of no where...

He pulls bending out of himself...

Let's see why he could take firebending away, Ozai had firebending within him so aang could find it and take that energy away. Where does he get the type of energy to give someone airbending?

Some of you might be thinking "DUH HE PULLS IT OUT OF HIMSELF"

No. The turtle dude said "your own soul must be UNBENDABLE, or else it will become corrupted and you will be destroyed" so how would he bend out of his own soul? aang already proved his soul is unbendable, so that would never work. Thus, it seems as though while aang can take bending away, there's no real way to give it.

    ON ANOTHER NOTE

Apparently, according to Aaran Ehasz... and I quote:

"At the end of the finale when Katara kisses Aang and the camera zooms out, we tried to make it look, and symbolize, a kiss that the bride and groom have at the end of the wedding. That kiss wasnt just a kiss, it was also foreshadowing of a wedding or a bond between the two."

We wanted to leave everything open so we could pick up where we left off if we decided to. But there also may be some episodes in the future. Specials, maybe on Aang and Kataras children."

so aang and katara's children... they could be airbenders, and problem solved

It doesn't really have a name. People who keep calling it lifebending, spiritbending, or whatever are just guessing at the name for it.

Anyway, this question has been asked in atleast 100 other threads. If Aang has some kids, who in turn have kids, and so on and so on. There will be plenty of Airbender blood in the world for the next Airbending avatar to reincarnate through. And assuming every Avatar(including Aang) lives 70 years(wild guess) that's in the neighborhood of 300 years in the future. Not even taking into account people in Avatar can live to be well over a hundred(Avatar Kyoshi lived to be 230)

I was just thinking maybe the next avatar could be just born as an Airbender cause of the cycle.
    But who knows?
