I was think that it would be very hard for the writers to come up with an season four after the defeat of the fire lord, so what about a??prequel? the story could be about an avatar that has already been either Avatar Roku or even further back then that. Would this work?

I'm really not sure if I would like to see a prequel. I guess it would all depend on how it was done and how far in the past it went. But, there are so many ways they could continue to go into a 4th season. After all, there will definately be some kind of backlash after defeating Fire Lord Ozai. I mean a whole nation is not just going accept that Aang had every reason to do so after they have been fed propaganda and seem to not realize what is really going on outside of the FN. Especially, not the the huge supporters of the war. There are countless towns FN has taken over and/or destroyed and they will need to be revitalized.
However, the could refrain from focusing on Aang's story and move on to an Avatar in the future (one that has been fed lies in attempt to gain control of the Avatar who would be used as a pawn for world domination... sorry, one of my lil far-fetched stories again). Either way, I have hope in the creators' decisions.

listen there should be a 4th season, not a prequel but a fourth season, i mean what if there is world with a wood/plant nation, or a metal nation(the ancient mythologick stories of china explains us that the chinese believed that the fundumental basic elements that made the world was earth, metal,fire,air and water.

but what am i saying there could be a guild holding people who know how to rock,metal and fire bend.ANd there is a monster gathering power at this moment going to take over the world.

The avatar should be a trilogy its current form i.e Water, Earth and Fire! After this they should start something new- a new trilogy of how Aang restores balance because just defeating the fire lord wont be enough and also since there are no more air nomads what will happen to the Avatar maybe some more trips to the spirit world for answers will help!

Well they said that the movie would be a trilogy following Aangs story. I would like to see season four be about the comeback of the airbenders/finding the airbenders(if they have been hiding, there's several theories. I accept them all.)

I wouldn't really like to see a prequel as the fourth seaosn, because we already know and love our characters the way they are now. if they threw another avatar at us, that wouldn't be as interesting because we already like Aang. plus, if they defeat the fire lord at the end of the third season, what's the point of airing a fourth season at all?? the story's been told. all done! no more avatar! go buy the box set on DVD!

no but i would like to know how the one airbender guy(his name escapes me at the moment) came to betray his entire civilazation and people, however that is not unheard of. and i know i didnt spell civi..... right i dont care.
