Of course. If you like a mix of drama, adventure, and comedy like I do, this is a good show.

So... I'm in search for a new cartoon to watch, and I have seen this one a little bit everywhere... And I just wonder if it's worth the time? Maybe this is the wrong place to ask the question but...

I only wanna make sure I wouldn't waste my time..

You will not waste your time. It is a great animated series!! There are Avatar fans on this forum from age 12 through late 30s or older. I can't compare it with anime because I'm not an anime expert, but if you like caroons along the line of epic fantasy-adventure, plot and action driven, with interesting characters and a bit of both humor and drama thrown in, this is the one for you.

Since you're new to Avatar, I would suggest you try to get your hands on some season 1 episodes; some of the characters (especially Aang and Prince Zuko) have quite a bit of background to them. You can PM me or email me at mellomuse@firebender.com if you want to know more.

I'll second that. Avatar is proving to be a dynamic series, rather unlike a show like Teen Titans, which means that the status quo can change in an instant. You got to do your homework here, especially with Season II. Don't let that intimidate you though. Avatar's dynamic nature is what takes it a step above other shows of its kind, and even anime can struggle to match it.

Eh, I loved the Teen Titan cartoon. In my world I think it will be hard for a cartoon to come up in it's standard, but I'm going to give avatar a chance. As fast as I get my hold on the first episdoes I'll tell ya guys what I think ^.^

One of the reasons for my love of TT is that I simply adore superheroes... Dunno why but they have got me in their web...

What is it that you like about superheroes? Is it the fantastic powers (Avatar has it) intriguing characters (Avatar has it) or the mythology (has it in spades) Come to think about it, Avatar has a lot of elements (tee-hee) of American superheroes. You have the family dynamic of the Fantastic Four, the powers of the X-Men, the power-hungry empires of the New Gods and the view on fascism and police states only seen in Alan Moore books. But scratch that last part, because Moore is British.

I'm not sure yet what it is that makes me so drawn to me... I think it's the mental part of it all. On how they cope with the situation and so on.

But I also think it's because I know so much about it that it's sort of intriguing to se subtle jokes and such..

I love his books! V for Vendetta and Watchmen are the only comic books I've ever read (with the exception of Japanese manga)

You should definiately give it a try, but skim through season one (get the dvd, or if your a bad girl find it on youtube )so you have an idea of whats going on. The first few episodes aren't great, but they're information-ful. I was skeptical when I first started to watch it but for some reason I continued, now I love it!
