We all know that "only the Avatar can defeat the Fire Lord and bring the elements back into balance". I was wondering if, say,?? General Iroh, Master Pakku and King Bumi teamed up could they defeat him. I would say almost assuredly yes. Any thoughts? I realize Iroh working with the other two might be highly unlikely, just go with me here! Aang could watch from the sidelines for those who want him involved, just a thought.

Post Season 3 Buffy could take Ozai.

Iroh would work with others, as would Bumi. Pakku would be the one with the problem. Pakku invented hubris. But yeah, it's possible. It's just that no one dares attack the firelord.

Well that brings up a good question, if only could face him, which would have the best chance?

I noticed in esp the chase when all the benders are working together It seemed that they still were not a match for Azula (sp?) .Since ( I am guessing) She was taught ??firebending from her father?? and they had a hard time with her do you think he could stand?? a change??with him since?? in a way she is a reflect of him and his??firebending ways or do you thing that he will have to gather all the benders and?? work as a team to take him down??? I?? find that Bumi is very powerful and would be of use of to Aang since he is in the fire nation as a spy and could?? help him with the battle.

Interesting theory but let be honest the Firelord has something that scares everyone maybe when Aang finnaly has to fight him he will show some kind of new power like Azula, to demostrate that he is really a menace for all mankind. The most interest fact for is that What will happen after Aang defeat him?

    Any comments about?

i wondering that! i mean just cos you've defeated the fire lord doesn't mean the whole of the fire nation will suddenly say oh no our leader is gone let's give up! there are a lot of highly ranked fire nation members that will gladly keep the war going! and who would be the ruler? i mean i know it's technically Zuko but i want him to come into power and say right, enough is enough! the war is over! but then again i don't think that would make him very popular with some fire nation citizens!

My guess is when the world came to know that the avatar has dissappeared im sure it would have made sense for the strongest bender of each type to fight the fire lord by working together. Clearly something to do with the power of that comet prevents that since like Aang was told, if the fire lord gains power of the second comet then however powerful he becomes, the fire lord will not be defeated.

Oh and the four benders in my opinion would have been Jeong Jeong, Master Pakku, Monk Gyatso (when they came to know that the fire nation was going to attack the temple) and King Bumi. While Iroh is powerful, he just doesnt seem like the type to slay his brother for the injustice done to him. Maybe if Prince Zuko was hurt, he might be pushed into fighting against the fire lord but otherwise I highly doubt it.

All excellent thoughts everyone, I had never really thought about the odds of Iroh attacking his own brother, but if he did not I think the rest of the group would definitely have an uphill battle to win.??

True, Iroh doesn't seem like the type of guy that would do that unless pushed.

I was going to point out that Zuko attacked??HIS own sibling...until I realized that Azula was a sociopathic??bitcah (no, I didn't misspell that)??who shot lightning at her uncle...so yeah, that evidence kind of demolished whatever point I was trying to make

I think it'd be a good idea to have four master benders fight the Fire Lord. I'm guessing that the only reason it didn't have much effect when four benders attakced Azula in unison was because (with the exception of Aang) none of them were really masters of their art.

Well whether "Master Katara" and Aang??have enough skill and/or experience to be called a Master can??be debated, I think we can all agree that General Iroh is definitely a Master Fire-Bender. From his experience and skill I would rate him among the most powerful benders we have yet encountered. I guess I just like old, grizzled benders, all that experience and skill and power I just find very awe-inspiring. Maybe that is just me.

Damn straight. Iroh, Bumi, and Pakku are probably the most powerful benders on this show.

But sadly, when it was said that "only the Avatar can defeat the Fire Lord" that's what it meant. Only the avatar can defeat the firelord. Yeah, he could probably use the help, but in the end it's just gonna be him against Ozai.

Dammit. i wish they'd make a move on with the episodes already...

In my opinion, Jeong Jeong is one of the best firebenders around. Azula's butt may have gotten kicked had he been there to help in The Chase.
