If Iroh does die, then I hope Azula kills him and Zuko takes her down, doing a LOOONG fire match against her, eventually winning by maybe shooting out lightning.

I noticed that as well. I don't know if I like the voice as much... I thought it was so sweet when they said "in honer of Mako." at the end o the episode. They should of added though, who Mako was, some kids might of not know that he was the voice of Iroh. It's so sad....

Possibly during the eclipse Zuko will have a huge advantage over Azula, if Iroh dies because of azula that would be zukos chance to bet her. Either that or she might die via a lightning bolt that she fires at zuko and that zuko deflects back to her, which ever, it would be cool.

hmm evidence eh?? that's kinda hard to provide since i dont remember where i found them...

    rhetorical questions...

how long do they make an episode...9 months? a year each??
how do they do the voices anyways? do they have the voices ready and the cartoon is finished? or is it the other way around?

I have no idea to any answers to this questions...im merely asking what you guys think of it

Those aren't "rhetorical" questions. They're random questions. "Rhetorical" questions are those that require no answer.

The new Iroh's voice ain't so bad. The pilot Aang and rest of epsidoes Aang don't sound too different I think.

That's because the new Aang voice dubbed the pilot episodes some time ago so the show would stay fluid. So we no longer hear the original voice when Nick re-runs them.

No, I haven't seen the pilot since Nick first aired them. There is a difference, but not much.

I've only seen the episode once and was like "WTH?" when this happened. It seemed a little too abrupt of a change. Guess I'll have to get used to it, though, because unfortunately no one can capture Mako's amazing voice nor should anyone try. Iroh's voice was Mako's signature, and you should be able to tell the difference between the actors.

wait... Aang had a different VA for the pilot eps? I didn't notice that at all...

sadly, I haven't had the chance to watch this episode because itunes is being evil to me, but i'll be sure to pay attention to the soccer scene. I just hope that the new VA puts as much effort into the role as he can.

sorry for misusing rhetorical questions as english is my 2nd language...

anyways if i have to guess, i think in order for zuko to get over his problems is for something major to happen to him. Something very emotional could happen that would make him betray his home nation all together...i mean he's not fire nation anymore but meaning "join" the gaang. this could happen if they killed off one character close to him...either iroh or Jin. If they do kill Iroh, then the writer's probably planned it from the beginning already

People Iroh isnt' going to die...if he does it will be during the series finale defending Ba Sing Se from the FN.

He's too pivital to be removed just so Zuko can join Aang's group believe it or not Iroh could be concidered more important than Zuko as a character.

ehh i was just saying my predictions...soo jin would die then? im pretty sure jin is not a one episoe person *or else!

i dont really know how to get zuko to get to a complete character if nothing major happens to him or around him...

the new voice for iroh does make the point that he's not going to die this season and the next as well (probably). Besides if a new voice actor for iroh comes, it could mean that he's the most likely candidate to be aang's teacher.

Exactly and I wonder if there's a twist both?? Zuko and Iroh dies!

    OMG I NOTICED THAT TOO.

I thought it was okay, but I really liked Mako better. I'm so sad he died. And the tribute at the Luten mourning scene was so sad and thought provoking. It made me want to cry.

yeah! I thought maybe he was talking strangely...

that was his voice the rest of the time though, why wasn't it his voice then?

I'm going to repost the same thing that I posted in another thread that was talking about a similar subject, since I think it aplies here too:

To all of you saying that the replacement voice actor for the soccer scene means that Mako is going to be replaced: I have seen no announcement from official channels to support your claim so this is pure speculation. The fact that they got an actor to replace his voice for one scene does not mean that this will occur in the future on a more permanent basis.

It is well know that it takes over nine months to get an episode of Avatar completely made. While the Nick press release said that Mako had completed the second season, often animators will discover that they need more time to fill or decide they need to flesh out a character, and so, add in additional scenes months after the original voice work is completed. This may have occurred here, and since Mako had passed on, they needed someone to fill in the scene. This may occur again in the future, as more scenes are added to fill out the story, but THIS DOES NOT MEAN THAT THEY WILL REPLACE MAKO NEXT SEASON, OR THAT IROH WILL EVEN BE AROUND.(deep breaths)

However, I do realize that the substitute voice actor is circumstantial evidence that they are considering another actor. And so, until I see an official press release from Nick stating that such-and-such an actor will portray Iroh next season, I will not further speculate on this issue, and I would urge you to do the same.

    *end repost*

I would like to say that I too, enjoy Iroh as a character, but if the writers choose to kill him off, then they have good reason.
