As some of you may know I have been a big believer that when the FN attacks Ba Sing Se that Iroh would be the one to stay behind and help defend the city using the power of the comet to basically go all Zeus and fight off the invasion and after watching the season finale I???m more sure of this than ever.

??We know that now Iroh???s going to be imprisoned by Azula but who is also going to be with him? The five Earth Kingdom generals the Dai Lee captured. Now we know from the exterior view that there are multiple cells right next to one another allowing for conversation, and Iroh being the talkative one that his is will start talking to the generals about who he is and all that good junk.

??Now it???s clear that Azula won???t have control over Ba Sing Se for the rest of the series odds are she???ll be pushed out either by Iroh and the generals or by some other means, once that happens and the generals trust Iroh he will be allowed to defend and even possibly command the EK???s defense against the Fire Nation.

??So what do you all think?

I think Iroh needs to go make some tea. Though it'd be a waste to have the top general in Avatar make some tea. I'd want this guy taking command of my troops.

Plus doing this would finally let Iroh's character come full circle which is what all great characters do.

    :snort-laugh: Yeah, really.

I don't know if Iroh will be in the position to do something like command an earth kingdom army. Rather it be because he is currently captured or because they wouldn't accept him. But I do think it's possible. In fact, that would completely AWESOME. (note the seriousness of the period)

Like I stated before Azula won't have control over the city for the duration of the series she will eventuallly loss it somehow. And while the season drags on Iroh will spend that time talking to the generals so after time probably will accept him.

    Yes. Unlikely but completely possible.

Let me just say I like your theory. But I have a feeling Iroh is going to be helping/dealing with Zuko's problems before that could happen.

Why do you think it's unlikely?

If it's because of what he did keeping in mind it only took like two minutes of conversation to make Katara and Zuko all friendly and given an entire season...

I don't know. The whole thing feels a little far-fetched is all. There's a difference between convincing once person and convincing a whole nation or army... But like I said, it's completely possible.

    Dealing with your edit:

When is he going to have the time to help Zuko? He's going to be imprisioned and Zuko can't visit Iroh regularly or else Azula would think he's trying to betray her. The only thing Iroh can do is talk to the people who are there with him. Also by the way Iroh reacted to Zuko at the end of the season I don't think his main goal will be trying to hold his hand anymore seeing as he's made his choice.

But he doesn't need to convice the entire nation at least not at first if he convinces the generals than the army will follow them.

Again. It. Is. Possible. I like the theory. But you're not going to convince me it's completely plausible. I AM on your side though.

Now I think about it, Iroh would be the most apropiate person to lead and invasion to the Fire Nation. I mean, he used to be a General, and is Ozai's brother, in fact being Fire Lord was his birthright. Plus he's one of the top firebenders (I think)

And about the generals, he can easily won the trust of them, he's very nice and cool, we love him since day one, why not the generals?

I was sooooo tired last night I couldn't even think much to write it down, so here it goes...

As for Iroh and the 5 Generals teaming up to gain control of Ba Sing Se, I think it is highly possible.?? Iroh has a leadership ability inside him (kinda like Azula said, you are born with it).?? He also has the history of being a great leader to stand behind his credentials (the Generals know that the Dragon of the West broke thru the wall).?? Finally, he has the personaility to charm, so gaining their trust won't be hard especially when he is sharing a cell with them.

I think turmoil amongst the current rankings will allow them the opportunity to plan and even possibly get some word out to the gang as well.?? I don't put anything past the gang... I can see them sneaking into Ba Sing Se to get information; they've disguised themselves before (King of Omashu, Imprisoned, Blind Bandit).?? Azula will be too busy trying to shine her 'superiority' and I think Zuko will be in anguish over his decision; also somehow I think his relationship with Jin will come into play during this time period as well.

Finally, I believe Bumi will have finally mastered Neutral Jin over in Omashu and the battle to regain power in that Earth Kingdom will get underway in the early stages of Season 3.?? They may also be assisted by Haru and his hometown (they were a town once fallen but it is assumed they regained their control in their hometown during the time between Imprisoned and now). We also have a 'restored' Southern Water Tribe which was what Pakku was on a mission to accomplish at the end of Season 1.?? Of course, the Northern Water Tribe is still standing and lets not forget our comrades living in The Swamp.?? So this is a very small celebration for Princess Azula to say the least.....

    Forget Haru people!
that was just a MINOR character!
And i can't wait to see Toph fighting along Bumi(Against each other they would annihilate themselves)
Together just imagine all the combos.
the first that comes to my mind is Baseboulder( baseball with giant boulders) on Cotton eyed joe music.
We will have the 3 most powerfull earthbenders.

Interesting to be sure. I wanna see Azula killed gruesomely, other then that, great idea's and speculation.
