Hotlinking is an iffy-enough practice as is as it can strain another site's bandwidth when they don't wish outside sites to do so.

Given recent incidents, TV.com would like to make sure it's clear to everyone how posting offensive images on the site will be handled. From this point forward, any image in a post you create that is offensive, degrading, contains nudity, etc., will be moderated appropriately.

Unless you are 100% sure the image you post won't be replaced by an offensive image if you hotlink to it, don't link to it.

If you're not sure, and choose to gamble, then you're taking your chances. Particularly offensive images can result in an immediate ban.
