Well except for that time in 'The Great Divide' and well when Sokka and Toph asked him how things went with the Guru and he said he mastered the Avatar State when he really didn't and then Azula nailed his sorry behind...

O.k. so maybe the cake is a lie...but it does look tasty...

And the time in "The Runaway" when him and Sokka send a note to Katara saying that Toph was sorry and that she wrote it. And when he lied in "The Headband" when he said he came from the colonies. And that continues on for a couple episodes... And when he dressed up as an old man to get into Ba Sin Se. Wow, Aang has lied a lot, ahahah. (Oh, btw, 200TH POST!)

Congrats on joining the 200 Club!

Per your post: Yeah and I just remembered Aang made Katara an official 'Avatar Promise' that they wouldn't allow Toph's scams to become a habit and well you know how that turned out...LOL

I liked "The Great Divide" and it was one of my first episodes. My sister was watching it for the first time (I had gotten her hooked. She didn't want to watch at first, then she.. well, it's the same marathon binge all First-time Avatards go through) and I asked how anyone could hate the great divide, and she said she thought it was kind of corny.

It was AMAZING! It just shows are great they can take a generally negative fan response to an episode (though I really didn't think it was too bad) and poke fun at it with a great spin. They are just fantastic.

You know, I'm also starting to see that. I've gotten 3 people hooked on Avatar, and all 3 demanded many marathons that took place as often as possible. You just can't get enough of it at first. WE CAN NEVER GET ENOUGH!! It needs to come with an "addictive substance" label on the DVD.

Lie or not, that cake kicks ass. Kaysammy05, I would also like to graciously welcome you to the Avatard State. I hope you enjoy your time here. lol. My case was not unlike yours, one episode and I found myself wanting more. Within a week it was a full-blown addiction. Anyway, stop watching the episodes for a minute and come back to talk with us. We want the first impressions from a new fan (something we never get... everything has been severely analyzed around here).

    What?!?

We don't analyze things around here!

Heh heh heh, o.k. yeah we do. LOL

You know the phrase: To beat a dead horse?

Yeah as far as Avatar theory and speculation, 'to beat a dead pentapus' definitely applies.

Lol, I know!! Kaysammy05 said she liked every single episode in the first season, can you imagine that kind of innocence?? Not being jaded by repeated discussions of our undying hatred of The Great Divide??? I need to know what she thought of that episode right after watching it. I need to know there is hope for us as a species.

God what must that be like? To be totally FREE of any Nick-rage, eye-twitching AWS or the totally jaded belief that Avatar will come back to air on Nick.

Kaysammy is soooo pure, untainted by the spoils of war...

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! I wish I could be like her!

I'm a tad confused about how there's fanservice when they said they'd make no changes to the original storyline just because the fans want it, unless that's something else entirely.

It's not exactly that type of extreme fanservice. More like they heard what the fandom's reaction was and decided to make a play off it in this episode. They did the same thing throughout that same episode for their old ideas (i.e. making Toph a man, a girl voicing Aang, etc.).

    They're just epic like that.

I get it now. Except, they state they ALWAYS wanted a child to voice Aang, and not a woman.

Bravo welcome to Avatar community, if only you waited til the end of July you wouldn't have had to wait for a single episode. Just so you know almost everybody here has a severe dislike for Nickelodeon, and try to avoid shipping wars.

Thanks for the warm welcome everybody!! I really didn't expect to get so many replies, and in such a short space of time.

I really am lucky to have discovered this show so late, I must thank my little Bro!! LOL . I usually hate it when i have to wait months for a new season of a series to air.

But i'm sad to hear that this is going to finish in just four more episodes (not for me though, i still have two whole seasons to enjoy!!).

I really don't want my amazing Avatar experience to end so soon. What can i do to make it last longer?? Should i watch only one episode a day? One a week? I can't control myself, they should invent a dvd player that lets you put restrictions on how many episodes you're allowed to watch per day.

Are they going to make more?? Can they make more?? I hope they aren't going to kill Aang and the gang.

They are making a live-action movie due out in 2010, but try to watch maybe 1-2 episodes a day, and if by July you haven't caught up watch a bunch in a row.

WOW. You're catching on fast. Just like "Aangst" and the "gaang"...you already got those rhyming Aang words going! And to top it all off..YOU CAN SPELL HIS NAME!

Hmm..try Avatar AMVs on youtube. They're enjoyable and take up lots of time. Read a bunch of Avatar fanfics on fanfiction.net. (That's REALLY addicting.) It's under the Anime/Manga section.

And just to make things a little clearer for you...
The creators of Avatar are Micheal DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko. Avatar was based off of animes...but is WAY better than a lot of shows. (Rule # 1 about being an Avatard: never mistake Avatar as an anime or a "fake". It can be pretty rude and cane be taken as an insult.)

Well, I guess you see what you got yourself into now... heh heh . But seriously, I hope you enjoy your time on the Avatar boards.

AMVs and fanfiction.net are great resources for Avatar stuff, deivantart is a good one too, for fanart. I really never checked it pre-Avatar.
