    Not too fond of Vanessa...D:

I don't know, I can't think of any well-known actors/actresses who would be able to pull off the Avatar characters. I suppose they'd need to be fresh faces.

Though I liked the choices people mentioned on the first page (the serious ones, that is).

    Azula : Brenda Song

Did a martial arts film, if anyone has seen Wendy Wu: Homecoming Warrior, has some experience from there.

Only problems is that she may be a little too dark. She also could lose a few pounds for the role.

Or go to China / other asian countries and cast someone from there. Easy to find someone with the look at least. Rail thin, and light skin. I hear Stephy Tang knows how to speak english:

I do not picture her playing Azula. I cannot pinpoint why I do not, but she does not portray Azula to me. Of course, Azula is not in the first film anyways.

She's too dark + not thin enough for the part. Can use make-up to look a little lighter, and lose a pounds through exercise. Many actors/actresses do this(prepare) to achieve the look of the character.

    Toph: Dakota Fanning

I chose either Dakota or Abigail Breslin. Went with Dakota, resembles Toph more.

ehhh i've seen her on disney channel. I feel like she wouldn't be able to play a dark character. Her acting as such a dark character would come off cheesy and forced.

But all the people in AtlA are of Asian Descent. So, all actors should be Asians to stay true to the show.

Since everyone else has a picture to back their ideas up, here's a picture of Ken Watanabe. Does anyone else think he could play Long Feng?

Ken seems perfect for the part. Now to Jacky Chan, he's perfect for the cabbage man.

That is not entirely true. The Water Tribes are based on Eskimo culture. I suppose you could make the argument that the Eskimos are of North Asian (Siberia) origin, but that is simply splitting hairs. Also, I have always considered the people of Avatar to look like Central Asians (Turkic Peoples). This means that they have a mixture of Caucasoid and Mongoloid characteristics. I think a mixed-racial cast would be most appropriate, although there seems to be no people of African descent in Avatar.

A member of the Rough Rhinos seems to be a black guy. The one spinning that ball and chain.
