Normally on a kids show or in superheroes movies (some ppl are going to kill me for relating it to those movies in a way XD) the protagonist kills the bad guy by accident.
Thought, avatar is avatar, not like any other show ever, so who knows!!
I guess we will have to wait and see this Saturday XD

The Sokka/Suki/Zuko scene in TSR has proven one thing: Bryke are the masters of slipping things past the censors. I think that they will have no problem getting whatever they want to get into the finale.

How I see it is [quote]"It is better that one man should perish than that a nation should dwindle and perish in unbelief."[quote] So basicly, if he doesn't kill the Fire Lord (or Phoenix King) then everyone would suffer from that one man, but if he does kill him, then only one man would suffer and a whole nation would be in peace. So it is understandable why Aang has to kill him. Unless he does something else?

Yeah, my brother and I were cracking up She didn't want to talk to Sokka, she was after much more than that

Btw, I think Aang makes an exception to the rule. Because if he doesn't aim to kill the Fire Lord he may not be able to beat him (does anyone know Rurouni Kenshin and his fights against Shishio and Enishi?), and if he doesn't beat him then the whole world will suffer. I'm usually not the kind of person to agree with things like this, but the way I see it now, he has to make the sacrifice of killing one to save many (millions?).

And we all know how resourceful the Fire Nation Royal Family is, so if they put him in prison something will probably happen and he'll regain power (maybe not as much as he had before, but he'd still regain power).

But someone said before that a lot of times, the hero kills the main villain accidentally. Though I always think those endings are really lame, I'm not completey ruling it out. Back to the Rurouni Kenshin thing: Bryke can make it so that the Fire Lord dies in a fight with Aang, but it technically wasn't Aang that killed him. But they dont have to make it lame, they can pull off an ending like this and make it awesome! I mean, we are talking about Bryke, guys

SQUUUUEEEEE Rurouni Kenshin is my favorite anime ever!!

Now, getting on topic....as you said, Mike and Brayn are the most pwning people in the world, I'm sure they will find a way to have an EPIC end and still manage it to be kids-rated.
And I also agree that if he doesn't kill the Firelord, I don't think there would be another way to end the war, because he could rise to power again o.o

There are only 2 options for defeating Ozai.

    1. At the end of the epic battle Aang tries to save Ozai from falling into a volcano or something, but Ozai refuses his help and dies. (Ala Zhao.)

    2. They trap Ozai in the spirit world/imprison him or something like that. If you actually think Aang is going to beat him within an inch of his life and then kill him in cold blood, you haven't been paying very close attention to the show.

Doesn't the preview that comes on during the first comercial break of every episode pretty much clear this up?

Well off course it's a kids show, the later would never happen.
But Aang still has to kill him some way, that's my point

maybe Aang will knock him off something and we watch him fall then...the ending comes up and all the fighting and warring stops

liberals will send him to a public school that doesn't know how to teach anything but self-confidence and raise the credits needed to pass, then they decide to add some kind of irs score or something, then they will tell him that he is in the first class that needs to be "pushed" by needing 26 credits. This forces him to focus and be a good man, then his therapist Mrs. Baker screws his school agenda over so he can't ever pass, hate this friggen school system. *NejiKusa has officially been pwned by democrats*

i do agree to some people when ozai is falling and aang tries to save him but ozai doesnt let him save him. maybe ozai is too full of himself to have the avatar save his life so he admits death

This reminds me of question my health teach asked us in 9th grade. She had this big book of difficult questions. One of them was "If you had to save the world by killing one person, would you do it?" My mind imediately went to avatar of course. Everyone's hadns shot up and asked "Is the guy we have to kill responsible for dystroying the world?" Cause if it was, I'd do it. Like they say in those Wanted comercials "Kill one, save thousands"

If you look into the philosophy of Buddhism, which the air nomads were modeled after, you will see that although violence is generally considered to be completely wrong there is a situation that warants violence. The idea is that if someone is commiting horrible acts and you do nothing to stop that person, you become just as guilty as they are, it is at this point that violence may be envoked when all other options are impossible. Another idea is that Aang was refering more toward the idea of revenge and the desire to do violence.

I disagree, Aang got off easy with Zhao by having the spirit of the Ocean do the dirty work. But Avatar is not afraid to have someone kill someone else, look to the hinted at death of Jet and the actual killing of someoen by Avatar Kyoshi.

Aang will probably have to make good on Avatar Roku's promise of ending the Fire Lord if he continued witht he invasion.

I don't think Aang has it in him to kill someone. Unless he's in the Avatar State, of course. But he'll probably throw him in jail or some sort of holding area where he can't break free with bending.
