Nickelodeon (ended 2008)

If Firebending can be taken away, can Airbending be given back?

Can Airbending be resurrected?

If Aang can take Firebending away from Ozai, can he give Airbending to other people? If bending is just energy bestowed upon people, and Aang had the power to manipulate that energy, can he create a tribe of Airbenders as to repopulate the Earth with them again?

who said it would be possible... doesn't make sense. The reason he could take firebending away from ozai is because there was something in ozai to take away... is aang just going to create the energy to give airbending out of no where?

You might say, "oh he's an airbender, he just gives them some of his energy" WRONG. As the lion turtle said, his own spirit must be unbendable, so if he bended airbending energy from himself... he would die

I believe the roaring lizard island said his spirit must be "incorruptable," which just means he can't let it be affected by outside influences; not that he couldn't influence outside forces himself.

I was under the impression the turtle said his spirit must be unbendable or it will be corrupted, was kind of hard to understand

    Very hard to understand.

The main reason I ask this question, though, is because it gives a possibility towards the Earth becoming balanced, and stories being possible. Without Airbenders, the show's universe is pretty much ended.

so someone in another post posted what the turtle said

In the era before the avatar, we bent not the (can't understand this word) but the energy within ourselves. To bend another's energy, your own spirit must be unbendable or you will be corrupted and destroyed

so if that's the quote than my theory might hold true
