As for Suki, no dice in my book. If she's not dead yet, she's gonna die in the season finale. All non-bending: Yue (water) dies in Book 1, Suki (earth) dies in Book 2, and Ty-Lee (fire) makes it happen in Book 3. That's my vision.

Back onto the topic...I think she's still alive. Do I have proof? Nah, but they always have twists and turns in the plot, so I've given up trying to predict things. If I'm not shown it, it hasn't happened.

    Maybe...
Just for the reason that Sokka's love (Yue) has died before, I don't think Suki will die.
Suki and Sokka basically looks like they like each other.
    If Suki dies...
    Well, that's cruel.

Do you even look at the letters on the keyboard? Anyway, I do hope she'a alive. I think she should die like Yue did. She could sacrifice herself to save the Aang Gang!

You also have to realize something... the three warriors whose uniforms are being worn could NOT have been dispatched by a fire blast from Azula... otherwise, their green uniforms would have been burned! She would have gotten one uniform from the warrior the Circus Freak took out. The only thing Azula was fighting Suki with was lightning and fire, and either of those would have scorched the uniform.

They could have gotten to all 5 of them and only stolen the best three uniforms... they are baggy enough to fit one size fits all. But some of their uniforms would have to have been in good enough shape to wear.

im giving Suki and the other warriors a 50/50 shot at living.
On one hand, we know that there is no way they would have won that battle, and Azula does't seem like the type to show mercy and take prisoners. The argument that the outfits are not burned doesn't really mean much, first of all its a cartoon...they aren't going for extreme detail like that. 2nd, who says Mai or Ty Lee couldn't have landed a finishing blow?

On the otherhand, Suki has made herself out to be much more than a 1 shot character and people generally like her. The creators might not want to kill off such a popular character. Keeping her alive but a captive of Azula also gives the writers another plot point they can cover later on.

Oh, please. Don't get me started! You actually think that Azula is going to have a substantial part in season three? No way. Zhao was in Chapters 3, 8, 13, 16, 18, 19, and 20, and now look where he is. Gone. Azula's team is in those chapters. The creators said that Ty-Lee and Mai will have a big part in season three, but they didn't mention Azula. Therefore one can conclude that Azula either dies or becomes a Joo-Dee.

Zhao didn't have the kind of connection to Zuko and his family that Azula does. Considering their history I would think we have a good deal more to see from her, especially considering we still know so little about what went on before Zuko's banishment and the circumstances surrounding Ursa's disappearence and Ozai's rise to the throne.

Anyway, just because they didn't mention Azula in now way means she won't return. Before book 2 did they mention anything about Jet or Suki? Not as far as I know, yet they returned. Though I am glad to see Ty Lee and Mai elevated to real characters rather than just being Azula's sidekicks.

Yes, it's a cartoon. But the creators have taken PAINSTAKING efforts to make sure that EVERY detail is worked out. The Kyoshi warriors had to be taken down by Mai or Ty Lee, which is what I said. Either Azula stepped aside in her fight with Suki and let someone else take her out, or Suki escaped. One of the two.

You apparently weren't listening. Feel free to object, but please address the following.

There is a villain for each book.

This villian, after his/her book, does not pose a significant threat.

    This villain appears in Chapters 3, 8, 13, 16, 18, 19, and 20.

    Book 1's villain is Zhao.

Book 2's villain is Ozai's Angels.

If the Ozai's Angels no longer pose a threat in season three, it must because it no longer exists, as Azula's leadership over it has ceased. If the Ty-Lee and Mai simply left, then Azula would go back to Li and Lo and continue posing a threat. Therefore, Azula ceases entirely to be a threat by either dying or becoming a Joo-Dee. Perhaps she becomes un-brainwashed if the show goes past Season 3, but I for one think the writers can use a different villain for the third season.

That is not entirely correct. Zhao appears in The Storm (ep. 12, but has no speaking roles. Azula appears at the very very end of season 1, but again, no lines.

But yes, the creatorshave spent a lot of time working ferverently on the details, which is one of the things I love about this series.

I think the season 3 villain is going to be Fire Lord Ozai, since he has no other family to do his bidding.

all of that is based off a single book in which the villian was neither an exceptionally powerful bender (zuko already proved he was better in the 3rd ep) but also didn't have a real connection to anyone. Zhao was simply an ambitious military commander.

Azula on the otherhand is perhapse the most powerful firebender shown in the series thus far (Iroh has yet to prove himself and we have not yet seen Ozai). Not only that but she has family ties to both Zuko, a main character, and Ozai, the primary villian of the series. I'm not saying she will continue to be the main villian, that role will likely fall to Ozai, but she will still likely pose a threat and act sort of like Ozai's attack dog.

your basically generalizing the whole series based off the events of the first season.

Yes, plus the creators, though they have followed a pattern, still like surprising us. Maybe Azula's "death" in the season finale (speculation, of course) will be more ambiguous than Zhao's or Jet's and she may turn up again. I'd say she the most LIKELY to show up again of any that may have died so far.

I HIGHLY doubt one of the Kyoshi warriors escaped. You know Azula's perfectionist mentality - almost perfect isn't good enough, not one hair out of place.
It could happen, but very unlikely in my view.

About the uniforms Azula and the others were wearing, they clearly weren't burned by fire but then the thought that has been bugging me since "Appa's Lost Days" resurfaced. If Azula used lightning, then the clothes wouldn't show it. The swords and shields the Kyoshi warriors would have made it easier.
Don't forget Azula was wearing Suki's outfit. Whatever happened, Suki didn't escape.

Im 50% sure that Suki could be dead (and half sure she's alive and captured). Nothing we can do but wait and see.

I'm not saying she won't show up. I'm saying she won't be a threat. Personally, I think that she tries to persuade Long Feng into letting her control Ba Seng Sei, but it backfires and...

"I am Joo Dee. Welcome to Ba Seng Sei."

Well, of course, something'd have to happen for her to not completely slaughter the Dai Lee. Bah, I'm tired of arguing. I just want to wait until Friday.
