IA AVATAR AN ANIME????/it looks like one and the characters somehow behave like anime characters so im just wondering. that show looks like it was possibly made in america but i cant help shake the feeling that its an anime so is it?

Anime is Japanese animation, so no.

Anime means animation. Japan Animation (Japanamation) and American Animation can be called anime. I would say the avatar has some similarites to Japan animation. It does not have some of the drwan in details as some of the japanese animation, but there are other similiarities. I lived in Japan for over 5 years (2 1/2 inthe Tokyo areand 3 more in Misawa).

Anime is known for a strange characteristic called "Chibi", namely it deforms the character for comedic effect(such as a huge jaw drop or making a character super fat after eating a large meal). I have never seen Avatar actually use this style. There are points you??might argue look like Chibi, but are obviously not.

Not all anime feature Chibi. Noein.

We need a new term for Anime influenced american animation.?? Here it is: Amerime.

    Avatar is Amerime.

I just call it a good show. Whether??a show is??Anime or Cartoon has nothing to do with my??opinion on it. Unlike some who are like "z0mG, t3h An!Me oR 8u$t!!"
