If that was happening, then only the young airbenders or the baby airbenders would still be alive (they'd be more than a 100, though). But that is an interesting idea.

I thought of this before as well, but then figured that since it is on nick they didnt wanna show the aftermath of a genocide. but i do think that since Aang said the only way to get to an air temple is on a flying bison that it must have at least taken the fire nation some time to get up there, which would have given some airbenders time to get away. my conclusion is that most airbenders were killed off but there??are still a couple that are??in hiding. think about it??less than??a hundred years is still a pretty short time to kill off an entire race. especially ones that are nomadic and live in completely different corners of the world.

Yea, that seems logical. Also airbenders are naturally quick, and their main battling stragety is to evade and dodge attacks. Also they can fly. You'd think at least some got away. Unless they decided to "protest" the invasion, and didn't put up a resistance, cause it's their home, and they won't be scared off.

oh geez. as far as we know the only surviving air nomad (besides aang) is the one who ratted them out in the first place. the ugly old mean one.

The one that ratted them out? What airbender? I know all episodes pretty much by heart, and I don't recall this part.

Very interesting theory.?? It is very viable and would solve the whole last airbender bit. ?? However I tend to think that Aang being alive and the only airbender would have drawn out the others from hiding by now.?? Because as we seen in the Kyoshi Warriors episode his existence and location was quickly exposed from the island.?? Then Zuko found him there.

I don't really think there is Air Nomads living in the Fire Nation. Well maybe, if they took kids from the temples and raised them as Fire Nation. I guess they could use them for scouting or something. But we haven't really seen evidence of this. Maybe the Fire Nation attacked during a fierce storm where the Air Nomads where unable to escape and just butchered everyone inside the temples. But who knows maybe there are a few Airbenders (really old ones) living in the sky by flying around the world forever. Or maybe that tornado from The Swamp had something to do with it.

This is interesting because I would think that a rough storm would give the airbenders more power.?? Think about how the Moon and the Ocean give the waterbenders more power.?? So I would think that a storm would help airbenders.?? I know the objection to my theory is Aang and the Storm episode but understand that Aang is still young an not truly a master.?? He has mastered all of the forms but not the intelligence behind airbending.?? It is just the same as Toph not knowing that she can bend metal until recently.?? They have undiscovered power because of their lack of experience.?? Think about the Avatar State episode where Roku tells him how the AS works to give him greater power.?? They flash a scene of an airbender avatar that creates a wind across the land.?? Yes he was enhanced by the AS but I still think that a great airbender can do the same if given something to enhance his/her ability like a storm.??
