I don't believe that they had Toph as a man. A boy? Perhaps, but not a man. It's too weird.

Okay Toph might have bee a boy.

    My arguement stands as follows:
People are always saying Toph as a male is the dude in the intro, but if Toph was always supposed to be such a big character, they would've given him/her more thought. If they had planned that (s)he would teach Aang, then they obviously would've decided to have him/her join the gAang, and no tweens want to watch the gAang have an adult that age go around the world with the kids. It's too oppressive and unconfortable.

I never thought of that well anyway you have one neat argument.

I still say the airbender is an older Aang, it's Aang's outfit after all. (Just look, you'll see it's Aang's outfit.)

Ya, because thats how all the air nomads dressed. Same with the person who said he moved like Aang, thats just because thats how all the airbenders move, it based on some sort of martial art, so its going to look the same.

I think its either an unkown bender or its that grumpy one on the left.

No, they didn't all wear the same outfits at all... The airbender has that belt around his waist like Aang's, and I never saw any of the other airbenders have one. All the older monks wore robes.

the Earthbender is the first incarnation of Toph...in shows characters change constantly early in development...they story was changed to fit Toph being a girl...but they probably didn't intend the same Toph from the intro to join the group...seriously ppl gotta stop looking too deeply into these things...i'm content with those just being randomn characters from each Element

Fine, whatever. If you want to believe that they were going to put an adult in the group, it's your right I suppose, but I still think it's someone from Ba Seng Sei.
