It wouldn't have been very hard for the Fire Nation to change the walls to metal from stone, considering they are the most technologically advanced nation. And since they're in the Earth Kingdom, there would be tons of natural metals around and they'd be easy to find quickly. Not to mention it would be way easier to smelt the metal considering they bend fire. They probably just smelted it and replaced the stone walls with the new metal so the Earthbenders in the city couldn't bend. I could imagine them doing that in about a month. If it was something more mechanical like the drill and the tanks, it would take a much longer time since those are made in the Fire Nation and they wouldn't have as much metal at their disposal as in the Earth Kingdom. (next time ask this in the Ask a Question, Get an Answer Thread. thank you)

Just cause you're lazy doesn't mean you can be disrespectful to the rules. Anyway, Omashu's siege could have occured anywhere between Aang's departure near the beginning of the first season and his return near the beginning of season 2. So it could be months from when he frst left to when he returned, Plenty of time for those crazed people to upgrade Omashu.

Well, considering how many soldiers the Fire Nation has, they could have had thousands at Omashu since that city (along with Ba Sing Se) were the only ones in the Earth Kingdom that was still resisting the Fire Nation. They probably had extra troops at Omashu until the city was upgraded so there wouldn't be anymore resistance or uproarings from the citizens. Then they left other troops stationed at Omashu to keep it quiet and under their control.

I dont think the Fire Nation removed the stone then put metal in, all they really did was ironclad the place.

Also a differing amount of time passes between each episodes. Like on Season 1, it was winter. On Season 2 it appears to be spring in the beginning of the season. So there you have it, Spring doesn't start until like March. And the end of summer is somewhere around August so Aang probably has enough time to save the world.

However this gives me fear. As Season 1 started in February (winter) and the whole season was set in winter time, Season 2 started on March, (spring), and season 2 is around Spring Season. Since Season 3 could possibly be around Summer, what if Season 3 starts in late May, which is in summer. That means after Season 2, we would probably have to wait at least 6-7 months for the 3rd season.

Funny, since it has already been confirmed that the next season premiere will be pushed back a "considerable" amount.
