How can Aang love Katara?

    The guru said that Aang couldn't defeat the Firelord if he didn't give her up,why does he keep on lip-lockin' with her if that;s true?

    It's much more complicated than that.

    The guru may have said that, but there's many people saying that there has to be a twist and that the whole "open your chakras" thing is one way of mastering the Avatar State, but yet there is definitely a hole in that. There's more to it. That's the point.

    Also, asking to let go of someone you deeply care for isn't as easy as it sounds. It's like saying that they don't exist.

    He doesn't have to give up love. The writers skipped that little problem by showing Roku marry and have a wife who had children.

    He seemed pretty happy, so there is obviously some way around it, or they simply discounted it.

    The wizard did it.
