In the final battle with Ozai, Aang will get totally pwn'd. And just before Ozai kills him, hawky will swoop in and claw Ozai's eyes out.

Hawky is dead. J.K. Rowling shot him down cause he was too simialar to Hedwig from Harry Potter instead of going through all the legal troubles that a lawsuit would cause.

Yes, Sokka will be in a wet dungeon facing a basilsk, get bitten, and Hawky will come to cry on him, the tears healing his wounds, therefore saving his life.

Hawky was sent to Toph's parents in "The Runaway". So maybe they got it, and either they keep Hawky or they try to find her or send a letter back.(Though Toph is blind someone else can read it to her. Because the parents know that since Toph can' write someone must have written it for her)
