I think I only cried once and that was when Azula was defeated because she looked so lost and in pain. Despite her being cruel I couldn't help but sympithyze with her I mean she had everything going for her and her two best friends betrayed her then she was stripped from her role as Fire Nation princess by a waterbender during Sozin's comet when firebenders are at their most powerful. Even if she was going insane i still cried because of how lost she looked |

If you've watched the show from day 1, if you have empathy and understand the characters... this series has some emotionally intense moments. I mean, there are some real heartfelt and heart wrenching moments in a series (in theory) made for 9-14 year olds. If I were in the targetted age group, I doubt I would have been impacted by some of the scenes I was... I never actually cried, but there were definitely times where I didn't know how to respond to what had happened... the season 2 finale was rediculous, the whole relationship development of aang and katara prolly hits most people who have had a close friend they wanted to date.
I've cried watching something twice, the first time I saw gladiator, right after the line "who will help me carry him", and the end of a beautiful mind when the dude started putting the pens down... but I was damn close to tears for the final moment of the series... the creators did such a fantastic job with aang and Katara's relationship, I don't give a damn if you're a shipper, Kataang or ZUTARA nonsense... if you've watched the whole series, that moment with the music and everything is one of the finest out there, and I GUARANTEE the first time you saw the kiss, your body flooded with some sort of heartfelt or warm emotion no matter what "ship" you sailed, because that sums up what avatar is.
As I said in my review, Avatar's ahead of it's time, and absolutely incredible.
