great beasts

    has anyone else noticed that each style of bending has a great beast?

    yes. there are already a million of these threads, or ones like this one, discussing the "first benders." The badger moles were the first to bend earth, flying bisons were the first to bend air, the moon was the first to bend water, but there is no specific thing about fire. It could've been the sun or some people think it's dragons becase Avatar Roku had a dragon. But, so far, for fire and water, there isn't really a "great beast" that bends the element that we know of yet.

    I think it is pretty obvious what the fire nations mascot is: what animal shoots fire? The dra/ fire sh!ting bombardier beetle of course.

    Actually it ejects a spray of boiling hot liquid from the glands in its butt (abodomen whatever). The spray contains irritating??chemicals that are generated by the explosive (turn of phrase) reaction of two sets of chemicals stored in??its glands. Its not that great though. ....Yeah.

    Well the decomposition of H2O2 and hydroquinone does produce O2 and H2 and there is possibly some combustion of those products, though most of the heat comes from the decomposition, but when H2O2 decomposes it can produce a visible flame. All the extra water in the mixture does mean no visible flame just steam, the reaction is still spectacular when compared to the animals size.
