In the episode Nightmares and Daydreams of season 3 Aang had numerous dreams and hallucinations. We were told that one of nightmares Aang had was supposed to foreshadow events to come. Now that the finale has aired we can analyze Aang's nightmare in more detail.

The dream starts with Aang riding on Appa in a storm and is snatched up by giant Momo.

-I think this may allude to Aang "dissapearing" from the world again along with Momo in part 1 of the finale.

Next Aang appears from underground and sees Toph, Sokka, and Katara dissapear. Toph goes underground, Sokka is grabbed by something, and Katara becomes surrounded in flames. Aang reaches for Katara but becomes encased in ice. A giant fire being that resembles the Fire Lord attacks the ice and Aang falls into a pool of water.

-I would guess this just symbolizes that Aang must face the Fire Lord by himself. Not too sure on this part.

Aang then floats to the top of the water and sees Zuko with the comet in the sky behind him. There is a brief close up of Momo in front of the comet. Then Aang appears in a vast green field and witnesses the comet crashing and devestating the landscape. -I am almost certain this is foreshadowing Ozai's secret plot to use the comet to destroy the Earth Kingdoms land.

Do you think this is a good analysis of Aang's nightmare or am I way off? If I am off how would you analyze it? If you discussed this earlier in the season how well was your original anaylsis?

I thought the thing with Momo going 'sh' was some sort of spoof off a horror movie, I know i've seen it somewhere before. Was it the sixth sence, or...uh, what's it called... uh...

I never thought of it that way!

    Good analysis.

That's what I thought as well. I think Momo has more importance then what they're giving us. I just know it... Great analysis though. The last analysis really foreshadowed alot.

Yeah, I figured the rest of the Gaang getting pulled away meant Aang was going to have to face Ozai alone.

The thing with Zuko above the ice I thought meant that Aang was going to require Zuko's help if he was to survive.

BTW: That dream sequence freaked the hell out of me and I loved it. One of the top ten coolest scenes of the series IMO.

Bumi seems to think he was important ...but I still wonder exactly what Momo "is".

And you can't forget the whole kissing scene with Katara and Aang. That definately forshadowed the ending.

I think Momo's purpose is for comedy and something that reminds Aang of home

An interesting theory. I definitely agree with the last one. I'm not too sure about the others; you may just be reading into it too much...
