A thought has been with me ever since the finale. What sort of penalties or concession must the fire nation make to the Earth Kngdom and Water tribes? In terms of land, payment, reconstruction help, ect ect.

For example, since the start of the War the FN had been establishing colonies on conquered Earth Kingdom lands. However, this is now a hundred years since the start of the war. Two or even three generations of FN civilians would have been born and grew up in these colonies, so would they have to be removed so the land could be returned to the descendents of the origional owners

Would the FN have to downsize its military, and if so what about all the lost jobs that would entail in both the combat and production ends of things. What kind of reparations would be appropriate?

I think that the Fire Nation is going to have to give up the colonies. There are a lot of refugees in Ba Sing Se who are going to want to return to their homes. I doubt they would appreciate having to share their lands with the Fire Nation.

and they would have to release all their war prisoners.

    I think that's a given.

and also they would have to help rebuild the earth kingdom, southern water tribe, and they would have to demolish all their weapon factories.

To minimise job losses, put soldiers to work in helping to rebuild lands attacked by FN.

Avoiding isolationism would also be helpful.

The military for FN would be downsized and permanent caps on what it can reach would most likely be created. Also, reconstruction periods, like always, would be very dark times.

The FN military would probably have punishments similar to the ones handed out in the Civil War. The major leaders won't be able to participate (for the most part) politically.

The fire nation will have to give up the rights and ownership of the colonies, but all the fire nation settlers can't be forced out of their Earth Kingdom homes. The different populations will be forced to integrate in the colony areas, which could cause problems, but is unavoidable.

I think eventually the FN citizens would leave anyway. I'm 99% positive that the people of the EK won't forgive them that easily and make their lives as difficult as possible. I'm sure that, naturally, all of the FN citizens will leave eventually.

Just because there would be hardship, doesn't mean that the fire nation settlers would leave. Most of the founding settler's families have been born and raised in the Earth Kingdom, so that's the only home they know. They have no connection to the actual fire nation now besides the origin of their lineage. Besides, Aang's job now relies around stabilizing the left over friction between nations, so he'll most likely be spending most of his time around these colonized areas to stop any feuds.

I think you're underestimating the EK's anger. We've seen over and over again how much hatred is being built up. The FN will not escape extreme harrassment. I'm sure houses will get burned down to show them how they feel, families will get seperated, things will be stolen. It would become too much.

It's true that a lot of the colonists have been born and raised in the EK. It is also true no doubt that there is a whole generation of people living in Ba Sing Se whose parents were refugees. Odds are, they won't be remaining in Ba Sing Se. They'll be going back, to reclaim their ancesstral homes. Someone has got to shift, and it will probably be the Fire Nation.

No, I think you're underestimating Aang's determination for peace. Although there is only so much he can do, it'll still make a difference.

Besides, it's the principle of the matter. The EK has become the settler's home just as much as the original EK families' home. It's like after the civil war when all the slaves were set free. Some African Americans did go back to Africa, but most stayed in the U.S. because they were born and raised their. Although there was still hostility left over, the African Americans still had just as much of a right to live in America as whites.

You shouldn't back down from what's right just because of harassment.

The EK and WT will force the FN to pay HEAVY fines for war damage, which will lead to a period of hyperinflation, which will lead to the FN's economy being ruined, which will create a power gap that an evil xenophobic politician can fill and the moment he gets into power he will make all of the FN minorities suffer and eventually start another huge war, bigger than the last, then Fran-I mean...the Air Nomads...will surrender without a fight meaning that the WT will have to have their asses saved by the EK.

    Oh wait, that's WWII.
