I wonder what is going to be the Fire Nation's Pearl Harber, the act that turns the war around. Attacking Pearl Harber and getting the U.S. invovled in WW2 to early for the Axis liking, was one of the biggest military blunders of all time.

axis biggest blunder was attacking Russia(after beginning th war ofcourse) they had seen what happend to napolean when he attacked Russia axis had a truce with the Sovjets and they broke it and so they were attacked by 2 sides

Germany error there was they attacked too late in the year, and went for the wrong targets. It should have been a main push to Moscow to knock out the government then to Stalingrad/Leningrad. Germany's forces where really miss managed during the invasion of Russia.

they had help from finland, letland, sweden and some more but the russians have a good tactic called 'burn mother earth' in every village that the axis came everything was burned down so the men could only eat from there own supply when they gotten deeper into russia they had to wait longer for there supplies (not?? to mention the coldness) true they didn't march to Moscow at once but they wanted to surround the city, and maybe if they launched an attack some earlier in the year they've could have won

The Avatar world is also flat. Anyone catch that?

Actually, to me, in the season two finale when aang was in space their world looked round like ours does in space.

Yeah, and didn't Hakoda say they protected Ba Sing Se from Fire Nation ships from entering that bay they were in? If the Fire Navy ships sailed west, getting to the Eastern Earth Kingdom would be easy. I mean it seems to make sense to me.

From perspective of the Fire Nation, you start to head West to get the Eastern Air Temple and attack Ba Sing Se, and you head East to take out any expeced resistence!

You want to think of the Fire Nation as not a single country but an actual civilization: Western Civilization. Taken to a historical context, the West, dating as far back as the 1600s, has had a growing grip on the world and became a dominate power when Britain, France, Spain, Germany, and Russia started to grow powerful by technology than the dynastic manpower of China and the religious-powered Islamic empires. The creators probably choose the Fire Nation to look like Japan because it was the US in the 1850s that opened Japan to the Western world and made it become a superpower of the East. The US is a Western nation, thus a powerful one. And history shows that the West has always hungered power, regardless of whether that power stems from money, trade, or military superiority. Sound familar?
The Earth Kingdom, being a representation of other civilizations, tries to fight for their survival and trying to resist the ideas that the West typically tries to impose.

Now, some of what I said might sound confusing, but believe me when I say this: it sounded better in my head!
