I noticed this in the Ember Island Players clip, the characters in the play went by the names of the real character. The Fire Nation finally knows the names of the Avatar and his friends. It has always been Avatar and his traveling comparsions.

My advice to the gAang, look at the possitives, they finally know your names.

Yeah, but you'd think they'd know what side of his face their own Prince's scar is on.

Maybe Zuko will finally say their names. I have a feeling hilarity will ensue.

Although they know exactly what happened during their whole trip (well, not exactly, as you probably saw), but they knew what happened at places that the gaang was alone at.

I just found it kind of weird how they know about what happened when Aang fought Bumi (the crystal prisons for example), Katara's crush on Jet and things like that. But meh, not looking too much into it

Sometimes you wanna go, where everybody knows your name...dun dun dun dun...and they're always glad you came.

But seriously. The little discussion we were having with the AP guys last night sparked a theory, maybe Iroh is the playwright?

Then wouldn't he make his own character the hero of the story? LOL! Everything else is messed up!

Isn't it obvious? The Players got people who turn into beetles to spy on the Gaang and then screw up the story

Rita Skeeter I expect. They did tell us some of their sources, but it would make sense that Iroh could fill in some of the gaps that others couldn't, and maybe it was a way for Iroh to contact them?

Correct You'd be surprised how many people completely forget about GoF... it's like the least remembered book ever. Even though it's the beginning of Skeeter >_>

For those of you wondering how they know so much about the gaang's adventures, its all from the "suprisingly knowledgable merchant of cabbage."

Is the gaang stalking him, or is he stalking the gaang?

Is a simple cabbage merchant, or a spy for the Nickelodeon Empire?

I think we all know the answers for that one.

"All I want is full feeling in my stomach. I'm starving!" That's not too far from the truth. So... Are is Gaang world famous?

Yes, that puzzled me. Maybe this episode was for the sole purpose of getting everyone to lighten up a bit? There hasn't really been an episode where the Gaang could relax and laugh at themselves a bit. Plus, there hasn't even been a recap of the past two books. But, I don't really know.
