Now I now that this has been discussed before probably over a year ago as I recall it. Remember how people in the avatar world's eye color usually coincides with the nation they are from. I.E. green=earth kingdom, yellow/goldish=fire nation, blue=water tribe, and black/dark color=air.

So my question is wouldn't you be able to tell what nation someone is from basically by looking at their eye color. Like you would know that someone who is trying to get into ba sing se is from firenation(not neccesarily a fire bender) but from the firenation just by examing their eye color?

I wondered that myself. Maybe there are just enough cases of people not having an eye color corresponding to their nation that people don't make a big deal of it.

Thats possible. Not everyone has has those eye colors. Like toph for example, but shes a rare exception or god forbid we found a flaw within the avatar world that could not be explained with any reasonable logic. Hopefully we are not there yet.

Maybe they have invented colored contact lenses. =0

I don???t think people really pay attention to the eyes. But it seems logical. But since eye color is genetic the reason why one nation would have only one color would be due to the fact the nations don???t intermix. But I am sure you would have eye color mutations here and there. Much like red hair or green eyes in real life.

Ty-lee seems to be an abnormality within the fire nation. With tanner skin and hazel hair and gray eyes.

I think it has to do with what element you can bend..because for example, Suki is not a water bender but she has sorta bluish grey eyes..and shes not water tribe

I doubt eye color has anything to do with what nation you are. Their eyes are probably that way because for example if your parents have blue eyes and their waterbenders you would have blue eyes most likely, it's just hereditery if someone from the fire nation hooked up with someone from the water tribe (no, not Zutara) their child could be a waterbender with gold/brown eyes or a firebender with blue eyes it's just that everyone so far seems to marry inside of their nation so they all would have the same eye color.

It does seem that a majority of the four nation's people have color courtinated (sorry my spelling sucks) eyes, but there are a few exceptions here and there (ie Suki, Jin, etc). I think that has to do with the fact that the world was at one point at peace and maybe some international lovin took place. Of course thats just my theory.

I don't think eye color is the best way to go. People associate gray eyes with Air Nomads, but a lot of FN and EK people have gray eyes, too.

Jin's eyes looked like the standard green EK colour, but Song's looked brown.

I don't think eye color determines what nation you're from. I think Zuko and Azula both have goldish eyes because they are members of the royal family and that's just the dominant trait. But it's really stretching it by saying you can find out what nation someone is from just by looking at their eyes.
