Well, as we've all noticed, the world in the Avatar series isn't exactly up to date when it comes to stuff like tech. What do you guys think about this? Do you think they decided not to go that far in tech-wise because various bending skills can be used instead? What about small stuff like sandals or surveilance cameras? Do you know how much more ground can be covered with some decent walking shoes?

You don't say? Well?? here's something you probably didn't know, according to the Nick??Avatar mag issue, Mike and Bryan mentioned the original concepts for avatar.
They discussed an idea to have Aang wake up for 1000 years, not just 100, and thast the world would be more modern and technological.

"Nick: how is the show different different from the way you originally planned it?
Bryan: Originally Aang was going to be trapped in an iceburg for a thousand years, not one hundred.
He was was from a time when technology was far much more developed then the when he woke up.
Momo was actually a little robot monkey.
But we wanted a more ancient feeling, so we did away with a lot of the technology."

Kinda makes you wonder doesn't it? I know it made me go (best impression of Lil' Jon) Huh-What?!

If they had done it like Kurasawa's Samurai Seven yes. Other than that, well guess we'll never know now. Funny since the beginning??I've always figured that??that crossed the creators mind at some point.??Spin-off anyone?

I already covered what a "avatar: the next generation" would be like, and it was not pretty! Bascially I figured the show would revolve around finding parking

Sorry that was a throwaway joke. I don't care for spin-offs much either but know that not all of them suck. Simpsons was a spin-off of the Tracy Ullman Show and look at it now. ....Alright, look at it 8 seasons ago.

They do have some tech. I like how creative it is, like, the Earth Bending Train, and that drill wasn't made of wood!!!
