Wait, I think it's starting to make sense.

It is interesting that they've mentioned Chan in two seperate episodes. Smells like a setup. Or it could be a red herring.

Are you certain you aren't smelling 'newb?' LOL

As we know from 'The Awakening', Admiral Chan is on leave for 2 months at Ember Island. And we know that the gAang is going there (for what reason I don't know yet). I've seen the trailer (probably just like you guys already did) and I know it'll probably be a hilarious episode, but this Admiral Chan might become a real pain.

    What do you guys think?

Ps. If this subject has been posted and dicussed about already, I'm really sorry... Please send me a link to the real topic so I can read that one and the mods can close this one, thanks!

Hmm, you've got a good point, I hadn't thought about him coming back into the picture. I bet he'll be like the Rough Rhinos, always interceding at the worst(and in some cases the best) time possible. Hmm, now I'm even more excited to see this episode. >

Oh, I never thought of that Chan. Yeah, maybe Admiral Chan is Chan's dad. Chan did say his dad was admiral or something like that.

Admiral Chan would be pretty pissed if he found out that Zuko and the Angels burned down their house (or wasn't it Chan's own special beach (kegger) house?) Though, he'd be pissed at Zuko, since Azula is the Princess and he probably doesn't even know who Mai and Ty Lee are.

Maybe Ad. Chan really will be thinkin' bout doin' sumpin'. :/

IF he shows up (which I honestly don't know if he will. I honestly forgot him) he'll probably be the reason they leave Ember Island. I doubt they'll stay for the play and then up and leave. Perhaps he recognizes Zuko's scar or something and follows them and that's when they are forced to leave the Air Temple.

Guess we'll just have to wait and see.

You know if everyone's so bored waiting for the finale, you could always check out avatar at nick.com. It gives great background info on all episodes aired in the US. There's lots of interesting stuff that isn't mentioned in the show itself.

And yes, the Chan from The Beach is the son of the admiral mentioned in The Awakening. How do I know? Aforementioned site.

Chan is a common name amongst Chinese people This could be a coincidence. In my clas, my form teacher and the moitor are both named David Lee, and they didnt know each other until the first day of school, and they're definitely not related.

I'm not saying that this admiral will have a great impact on the story line, but I was just thinking about it after I watched 'The Awakening'. This is a forum right? So I can discuss these kind of things with you guys? Yeah, I already thought so

And btw Lisa31468, you might need to get some manners instead of making fun of yourself... Lol, I don't even know what EIP is!
Just to make myself clear here: THIS IS A SPECULATION THREAD!
    thanks

Maybe Admiral Chan was the leader of the raids on the Southern Water Tribe and the killer of Katara/Sokka's mom.

    Dun, Dun, Dun

Sorry dark_aqua I should have explained 'EIP' is Avatar-speak for 'Ember Island Players.' It's the episode after 'Southern Raiders' which is the next new episode to be seen in the US, hopefully in July.

And congratulations by the way in leveling up to Level 4 since the start of this thread.

Yes, maybe he was, or maybe it was santa... -,-
The fact that Zuko kind of destroyed the admiral's house, makes it a personal matter for him to capture Zuko all by himself. This might cause Chan to not inform the Firelord about Zuko and the gAang. Now I think about it, the fact that Zuko screwed up the admiral's house might even save them. ^^

Ow btw, I laughed my ass off when I saw that you had to edit your tiny little message two times

Eh...I don't see it happening. Possibly only a mention of him (the admiral, not the son).
Like, I dunno, a soldier informing something about him to another- just like we were 'introduced' to him in 301, in the first place.

It'd be crazy, though, if we saw a couple characters from 'The Beach' make a very subtle reappearance in the audience (you know, like how the Hahn mask was seen in 'The Deserter.')

Other than that, I really don't see an important role in Admiral Chan's life.

Ok, thanks. Well, as i said before, this is a speculation thread since I'm not talking about the tiny trailer I saw on Youtube. Ow, and I really don't care about lvling up my account on these forums But thanks anyway.

Ps. jpicobra, I'm glad you noticed that I was just making a joke in my reply to you
To bad that the TV.com mods didn't get that, cause I got a TOS Violation Warning hahahah! Those Mods keep LMAO ^^ but hey, who are taking them seriously these days?

He could possibly be the villain who killed the Ka-sibling's mother. The fact that they briefly mention him in the 1st episode in passing conversation that appears unimportant and inessential to the plot, but reference him again in a latter episode, makes me think these two seemingly irrelevant moments might be foreshadowing something.

Don't forget this show has been littered with moments that seem inconsequencial but are brought back with deep ramifications. The library mentioned by Zhao, the poster in The Runaway that advertises The EIP, the pregnant couple Zuko encounters, the first time we saw the cabbage guy, etc.

    ha! that would be hilarious!

Admiral Chan: I'm gonna destroy you!

Zuko: Why? Because I betrayed my country, abandoned my people, and joined forces with the enemy?

Admiral Chan: NOOO!!! Because you wrecked my friggen' house!!!!!!!
