Recently re-watching the episodes from Season 1 from my new box set and personally I have never posted in one of these forums.?? But after reading thru around 50 pages and not seeing this topic, I just have to ask because so many of you seem to catch much more details than I and this is frustrating me.

First I see the map of the world with an "Eastern Air Temple"... then while watching Chapter 12 - The Storm, an Eastern Air Temple is mentioned in Aang's flashback - this is where the Monks were going to send Aang to continue his training before he ran away.?? Now I understand after seeing the "Southern Air Temple", the last thing on his mind was to run to the next, but now I am beginnig to wonder if Aang had ever been there before at all - and because it's location seems to be at a far point of the Earth Kingdom is it possible that not even ANY nation is aware it is there at all (considering it is mentioned the only way to get to an Air Temple is with a flying bison OR with one of those machines we see in Chapter 17 - The Northern Air Temple.

HELP! Anybody else out there ever catch a mention of this Temple??? After reviewing my episodes, I do not but then again, my 2nd season is only on my DVR (a lousy one at that) and it is harder for me to scan them than it is the box set CDs.

The Eastern Air Temple, along with the Western Air Temple are the places where female airbenders train. The Northern and Southern ones are where the males train (obviously).

    P.S. Welcome to our forum!

Well im pretty??sure the Earth Kingdom knows of the eastern air temple because they found the northen one, and im pretty sure he has been to the eastern air temple because if i can recall they had sporting events among the temples every so often, thats how Aang has been to the Nothern Air temple. Now how did they get up there? they probaly walked, i think Aang meant to say the fastest way to an Air bender temple is on a flying bison, not the only way.

Thanks! Now you've added to my curiousity?!?

The box set comes with a map and I don't see a 4th Air Temple, I only see 3 (is the map incomplete?) Is there other episodes that ever mention the Air Temples and their locations besides Chapter 3 & 17 - named for the Air Temples and that lone Chapter 12 - The Storm?

Now in the Northern Air Temple episode, (and I am really bad with character names so I do apologize for that), the machine guy makes a "wall climber" thingy that seems to be a gizmo that assists the Fire Nation with getting to the Air Temples... now since the Northern Air Temple is basically right above the Fire Nation on the map I would think they had these wall climbers to assist them in the attack of the Southern Air Temple. BUT at the end of that episode, they make a "comment" about how the air balloon is going to help them (?s coming to mind is getting in Ba Sing Se OR maybe even to try to locate other Air Temples that they do not know where they are located?)... At this point, my entire family is addicted to this show and this "Eastern" Air Temple thing has sparked a whole new thought process... who knew having a Season 1 marathon at the house would lead me to this forum! :-)

But that would be the Northern Air Temple b/c in Chapter 17, that machine guye (I wish I could remember his name, almost tempted to throw the DVD on right now).. is a supplier to the Fire Nation and I would assume the Air Temple closest to the Fire Nation would have been conquered first as well as been a prime location for them to keep their "weapon" maker isolated from others.

I wish I could scan this map in but alas I would have no idea how to paste it in but on the map it shows what I would believe to be the "Southern Air Temple" directly above the "Southern Water Tribe" home... which makes sense since that is the first place they go after "Avatar Returns" episode as well as that would make sense that when Aang ran away, he didn't get far before getting trapped in the iceberg.

The only other Air Temple portrayed on the map is surrounded by the Earth Kingdom and directly southeast from Ba Sing Se? I remember Aang mentioned visiting the Northern Air Temple in that episode and mentioned that many things had been destroyed and were sacred to the monks... maybe I'm just reading more into this but I just don't think so.

Meh, 50 really isn't that much (especially now). Its pretty obvious its been talked about. But still, dude you would've only had to look through 4 pages if you had done this in Ask a Question, Get an Answer II. Huh.??
