In the Southern Air Temple, Aang enters the Av. State and the Temples glow and everyone figures out the Avatar has returned.

But Aang enterend the State before that, in Chapter 2...is this a big mistake made by the creators or am I misunderstanding something?

Wow, I never thought of that, good observation.
But maybe because he was at the temple, that the statues glowed, maybe, i don't know

I think it was because he was near the statues while going into the avatar state this time.

ive always thought the creators wanted to introduce the avatar state, but obviously did not have time to show the part where the fire sages, earth kingdom and water tribe pppl discover that the avatar has returned

I think seeing the Avatar statues and going into the Avatar state in such a close proximity to them caused a reaction from temple to temple...

    Oooooo...drama! I'll get popcorn.

On topic...Maybe nobody was around an Avatar statue when it happened the first time...or the creators wanted to save it for later.

I think it's because in the "Southern Air Temple" he launched into the Avatar state by a cause of great emotional pain over seeing Gyatso's skeleton. In Chapter 2, he was launched into the Avatar state more to save his own life.

After Aang entered the inner sanctum, he started to get a message from The Avatars, but Katara, not knowing what was happening to him, interrupted it. My best guess is that Aang was supposed to get the full message and then go right into his Avatar State, thus sending the New-Avatar announcement to the other sanctuaries. Instead, the Avatar announcement had to wait until Aang found the remains of Gyatso in the hut.

well in the first episode when he came out of the ice berg he was in a dimished avatar state ( when its almost over)

but the first avatar state was triggered by defence and the second one witch was in the air temple was trigered by anger. and you can clearly tell the second outburst was the most powerfull.

Well, he went in the Avatar State at the storm (when he got encased in the iceberg). So... I guess the "avatar message" theory is the right one, he HAD to get into the temple to make the rest of the world know of his returning.

That thing only happened because the statues of the previous avatars eyes started to glow, if he wasn't in the temple then it wouldn't make a difference. Those things wouldn't just go off everytime he's in the avatar state, maybe it's like some sort of spiritual mechanism. When the avatar returns to any of the spirit temple, or whatever the statues will tell people.

People, RELAX!! It wasn't that rude, and he says that he didn't mean it. And he may be an attention seeking brat, but have you read my posts? I'm worse, and there are people worse than me! May we get back on topic before they lock us??
