If Mako had not died? I think there would have, if you look at the first season there several clues hinting towards a spirit world season Iroh saw Roku's dragon, Zhao mentioned Iroh's trip to the spirit world, and there was a hint that Koh would return.
And if you noticed when Mako died Iroh was barely in the third season and the whole third season wasn't treated too well like the first two.

No, there would never have been another season. Avatar was always planned as a trilogy, right from the start. Mako's sad demise had no effect whatsoever on the plans for the series - Iroh was always going to play a fairly small role in Season 3.

I think he's a bit bitter aroud Avatar. But, anyways, they already planned it out, and they said Avatar is 3 seasons; no other way.

Actually, that's not quite correct. Bryke have hinted that they may well choose to make a spin-off series after the Shyamalan movies. So we may yet get more Avatar
