Do you think the show would have been better if the first season was called Book One: Air!

Here's my reasoning - if you click on top episodes for avatar: the last airbender you will notice that the episodes which shows Aang training has the highest ratings - bitter work, waterbending scroll and waterbending master. Personally, I thought if they split the first season in two and made the first season into Book One: Air it would have given plenty of more training episodes which are really great. Also, I thought it was a little weird that Katara managed to go from knowing only three things in waterbending to being able to hold her own against one of the most powerful waterbenders. I would have liked to see how Katara managed to becomes so good and more importantly, I would have liked to see Aang use some of his waterbending abilities to save him when he is in danger. Another reason is that we could have possibly be introduced to more waterbenders then just Master Pakku because based on the show so far it seems like there are hardly any waterbenders left, which Im sure is not the case.

If this topic has been brought up before I apoligize. What does everyone else think about having the first season split into two different seasons?

I get what you're saying, but I'm okay with the first season being about him mastering Water (which, hello, he still hasn't! )

I agree with what you said about Katara though...it's like one minute she can't bend that much then the next moment she's fighting Master Pakku and Zuko and damn near winning!

I guess that a lot more went on between "The Waterbending Master" and "Siege of the North part 1" than we'd realized lol.

I think the show would have been better if it had been live action. Changing a title won't impress anyone.

I don't think he's talking about changing the title only, I think he means having adding more episodes about what happens in between each episode, and many more flashbacks with Aang about his mastery of Airbending. We would be able to see more of the Air nomad culture, and how Katara got so good.

The last thing the story needs is less progress. I prefer it when the plot moves at a brisk pace. Don't try to slow it down at all.

We're just thinking. Anyway, I think it would add a lot more depth to the story. We could also see how the temples got attacked and so forth (Air) and what Monk Gyatso did after he found out that Aang ran away. The plot would actually be better. We would know a little more about the history of the war, world, and Aang. We could also learn about why the Fire Nation started the war and so forth. It would be pretty neat. The plot wouldn't slow down, and they could make this after the finish Book 3. (Or book four.)
