Toph: I can't feel anything, the explosion created too many vibrations.
Azula: Wait, I see someone coming out of the smoke. Whoever it is is dragging a defeated lifeless body behind him.
Zuko: It's... (end)
I think that there's about a 1% chance of that sort of thing happening XD
Since it is a kids show, they can't really kill anyone..

I kind of hope Toph dies. Or maybe Sokka. Iroh too, possibly.
It would be really sad, but it would make it far more intense.
There are stories with the la-dee-da happy ending, which give you a nice, good feeling.
Then there are stories with a darker ending; things change and nothing can be as it once was. Good has prevailed, but there is grief too. The characters must accept their loss, and look to the future. They are determined to perservere, in order to honour the sacrifices of their fallen comrades.
The darker stories are more meaningful. They are the ones you think back to years afterwards. They are the ones which make you feel sad, but somehow better for having witnessed. I've always thought of Avatar in this way. I think it would be an appropriate way to end it.

But Aang can't die. He has to repopulate the Air Nomads.
I seriously hope Aang doesn't win BEFORE the comet comes. SERIOUSLY. They made such a big deal about it. I'll be pissed if it was all 4 nothing.
