It would seem logical so she couldn't cause trouble in the asylum she is now in. Also it prevents her from escaping.

IIRC she was simply subdued with a heavy chain during her fight with Katara and Zuko so I don't believe that would've been necessary.

I can see Aang taking Azula's firebending away if he thought that she was a danger to herself, but otherwise, I don't think he did.

Yeah, like trollwrangler said I don't think Aang would take away people's firebending unless absolutely necessary. i think she was already pretty subdued

Azula can't cause any trouble after the war and Aang doesn't need to remove her firebending. Dealing with Azula doesn't require removing her firebending. The healers can take care of her without Aang. Taking her bending away is an irreversible solution to a temporary problem and it is not going to help her.
