You think that all the "Aang Ain't White" mumbo-jumbo was a catalyst for this, or do you really think that Jesse's Tour got in the way? For that matter, do you think Dev is the better choice, and is it because he is truly a better actor or simply because he looks more 'foreign'?

THe fact that Dev was Indian was probably a factor in him being chosen. That and his fame from Slumdog, they probably thought that since he wasn't white, plus he was popular, so this would be perfect.

Personally, I think it was more Jesse McCartney looking for an excuse to back out of this role. He didn't seem all too enthusiastic to begin with.

Dev is a better actor. They think that just because somebody sings good that they are a good actor, which is wrong. The whole reason people put famous singers in movies is for marquis value. Now, we actually have a good actor, which means it'll be that much better. About the looks, just give him a little makeup, tell him to change his voice slightly, and he's Zuko.
