omg, i've just realized something. i dont know if this has been discussed before, but it has to do with airbending. okay, all the other elements - water, fire, earth - you can SEE them coming if you were to fight that type of bender, but AIR? isn't air invisible? so when you do fight an airbender, you would really have to gauge when your going to get hit by the air by the movements and timing of the bender right? in the show, of course they show you the air stream as a visual cue, but if ppl were really able to bend air, you would have to FEEL it instead of relying on sight right? crazy huh? (i know, i KNOW its a cartoon BUT still just THINK about that)

I'm pretty sure the characters see the same things as us, Because in order for air to really hurt it would have to be really compressed , so compressed that it is visible

hmm yeah that makes sense, compressed air is pretty crazy. one time my friend tricked me and squirted me w/ it and told me it was gonna stain my clothes and i got all pissed but then it just completely evaporated and i was like "omg that's cool"

There might be dust in the air..... The air attack from aang might be visible because of the dust(just like tornadoes)

    Just a guess
